Jack explained, chuckling almost nervously. His words made my entire body freeze; Jack saw Joseph as an old man. But in my eyes, and in the eyes of the other students, Joseph looked like he was in his mid- to late 20s. “How old would you say Joseph is?” I asked, curiously. Jack thought about it for a moment before shrugging. “I don’t know, maybe like 80 or 90,” he said in return. “Which is why he has people helping him during the day. Like a grocery shopper and a maid.”

Jack cackled mischievously, Alissa shook her head, it was by far Jack's favourite holiday and he got way into the spirit. Jack jumped from his seat wriggling his fingers mystically. “Lock up your doors and windows, the ancestors are going to come a knocking! All you tiny pups must hide, or they'll eat your insides!” he yelled jumping from Blake, to Alissa, to Luca. They all laughed at him, “Please say you're going to do it Luca?” he fell to his knees at Luca's side. He gave a wry smile. “Course.” Jack jumped back to his feet and punched the air before returning to his dinner, “You are such an infant.” Blake shook his head towards Jack.

“It was still a great sendoff.” “Sendoff?” I asked. “Are you getting married or something?” Jack laughed. “I suppose you could say I'm getting married to my job. I'm taking over my dad's company in a week, and I won't get another day off until I'm seventy. I even got a nice little bed installed in my office.” He grimaced and shook his head as if to clear the thought. “Where's Ro--I mean, where's 'Sam'?” “Robbie is upstairs helping,” I said, emphasizing the name.

“Look at you. All grown up and looking just like your mother when she was your age.” Naomi laughed softly. “You always say that.” “Because it’s true.” He guided her to the table. “Sit. You look tired.” “I’m fine.” She slipped into the chair opposite him, smoothing her skirt. “How are you? You said…” She caught herself. “...that you’d been unwell?” Jack’s smile faltered for an instant. “A little scare. Doctors, tests. You know how it is once you cross sixty.” He waved a hand as though brushing the subject aside. “But I’m still here.”

he teases Jack. “She will be locked away until she is twenty-five,” Jack says confidently. I laugh, “Do not be silly, Jack. She is going to have an amazing life and you are going to be an amazing daddy to our little girl,” I reply to his silliness. “Nope. I have decided. Too many wolves like me out there,” he says with a smirk.

“And I know she’s going to have a really good father.” Jack’s entire face softened. “I was honestly hoping for a junior,” he admitted with a grin, his eyes glowing at the thought. “But of course... a little girl would destroy me too.” A laugh escaped me. “As long as she doesn’t inherit Mom’s wardrobe choices, I’ll survive.” That made me giggle harder. “Imagine her showing up to her sixth birthday dressed like some eighteenth-century duchess,” he continued dramatically, “or some tiny gypsy from a fantasy movie.”

His lips tilted up in half a smirk. “Second, what the hell happened to you? You look like you’ve been through world war I and II.” I laughed at my reference but Jack hadn’t found it funny. However, his lips lifted up with a smile larger than life and I was all of a sudden scared. “What?” I asked, slowing backing away from him in case he’d finally turned crazy. “I got laid last night.” My nose wrinkled up in disgust. That was not information I needed to know. “Ew! You didn’t need… ugh!” I smacked his arm, trying to shake off the images popping in my head.

He didn't have any choice when Jackie lifted her phone and smiled at the camera, so a cringe smile was unexpectedly plastered on his face while Jackie has this glamorous face on the picture. I rolled my eyes and winced but deep inside I'm beaming. Classic Jackie. I noticed a picture of an old man on a picture frame beside the television which I think is the grandfather of Zack. He's a little younger in the picture which I think he was in his 50's? He had black hair with some evident shade of gray. He had an innocent face and looked so decent and conscientious. And I admit even with that age he still looked well and charismatic.

he said judging but instead of getting angry I laughed more. I was holding my stomach and stomping my feet because my stomach hurt so much that I was laughing while he was just watching me with a poker face. "Hell, why are you laughing? Do I look ridiculous? Tell me? What is missing in me that he has? Does he look younger? He's only 18 and you're 26! Damn, you can't— you're already married. Why him?" His expression looks horror and it seems like he's going crazy little by little.
