Like I don't have a care in the world right now. *paper sound* What is that sound anyway? I sleepily open my eyes once more to see the book once more but this time there was a picture. Page 28? When did I even start reading this book? I should just get up, use my speed magic to read it finish and go back to sleep... Why am I even reading a book like this? I sleepily wondered, I then felt a gentle, tender pat on my head, the tender feeling of fingers going through my hair once again lulls me back to sleep.

I looked at the study door, visible through the open library door, the closed study door with his voice behind it, low and measured, the managed register or something close to it. I picked up my book. I looked at the page. I did not read.

Now your turn”. “I do not know how to call, or the names of the books I want to read”, I heard my voice, barely a whisper. He chuckled again, whilst my cheeks burned red. “You do not need to know any such detail. Simply think of what you wish to learn and what you need – the books will present themselves to you” he instructed. “You speak of them with care. As if they are .. alive????”, I looked at him puzzled. “They are. They magic within them maybe ancient, but it is alive” he said looking at the book, caressing its covers gently as if it was a child.

He was here for me. When we finally settled down into our usual circle, Linda Lively's book was opened, I noticed the way Kael handled his copy. Like it was something worth respecting, worth holding carefully. It made me smile. “Kael,” April said suddenly, her grin mischievous, “why don’t you read for us?” I half expected him to decline. To smirk and shake his head like reading aloud was beneath him. But instead, he nodded. Took the book and cleared his throat.

Reading will help me learn. "Sorry miss, can I just get that book." A guy stands next to me pointing to a book in the corner. I step back giving him space, watching as he picks up the book. Standing he scans it and puts it back. "New here?" He looks at me, as he gets another book and scans it. I'm guessing he works here. "Could say that." I nod and place the book down, I struggle to read the back from boredom so I doubt I will read the book.

"You know everything in this book, right?" Hopefully, she was expecting a yes and that was what she got. "Yes, I know quite a lot of things," Herla boasted proudly, whirling playfully in the air. If that was the case, Lorraine reasoned, why read it word by word when Herla can just summarise the whole book? It would be faster, more effective, and more … retentive, she thought. "Please, say out only the important part of the book to me," she begged and pinched her brows, making a look of helplessness.

There is no title written there, but I can see the crown on the book's cover. "You know how to read, right?" he asked coldly. I nodded quickly. "I'd like you to read that." He ordered. I took the book and began reading on the first page. When I saw how many words were in it, I blinked. When you first look at it, you'll realize you won't be able to read it in one sitting!

Could you please tell me why I cannot read the next page or any other page? [Host has understood 1% of the content of the First Page] [The Second Page will be accessible after the Host gains 100% on the first page] You!! AGGHH! Why aren't you letting me be overpowered! [I've overpowered the host enough. Get to work!] As I thought of destroying the book, I became furious, but I calmed down immediately. Relax, it's nothing to worry about. There is no free meal available. I got a gist of how the book works, the reader moves onto the next page once they have understood 100% of that page.

She read for an hour. Not scanning. Not the way she read briefings and intelligence summaries, with one part of her attention on the content and another already in the implications. She read the way she had read as a child, all the way inside it, following what happened and finding out by continuing. The book was good. It had been good for two weeks, and she had been reading it slowly because she was learning to read things she wanted to last at a pace that let them. She put it down at eight forty-five. Not because she had to. Because she wanted to call Marco before his afternoon started.
