Damon saw it. He crossed the distance between us in seconds, catching me as my knees weakened. “Easy,” he murmured, his hands firm on my waist. The power receded slowly, like a tide pulling back. The wolves collapsed fully, trembling. Viktor staggered to his feet, backing toward the trees. “This isn’t over,” he said hoarsely. “Now I know what you are.” Damon stepped forward, blood streaking his chest. “It’s over for you.” But Viktor retreated into the forest before Damon could finish it.

So he nodded. “I will wait until your return,” he said. “I have a gift for you,” she said softly, just as hell broke loose in the entrance of his mansion. The yell of one of his vampires was heard as a woosh of brightness entered the pool room, three of his people turning to ash in seconds as a silver stake streaked through the air. “Mavery, you lied!!” came the yell of a woman in all black as she rushed forward, as another of his vampires trying to stop her entrance went down.

Vera's body convulsed and crumbled to the forest floor, her eyes staring into the void. Damien, witnessing his companion's demise, hissed with rage and desperation. He launched a final, desperate assault, fueled by his undying thirst for power. But Marcus, empowered by his connection to the forest, met him head-on. The clash of their forces was cataclysmic, the very ground beneath them quaking with the intensity of their battle. With a mighty swipe, Marcus sent Damien sprawling backward. As the vampire scrambled to regain his footing, Marcus seized the opportunity. In one fluid motion, he drove a silver blade deep into Damien's heart, ending the vampire's existence with finality.

The artifact began to crack and pulse erratically, its energy becoming unstable. "No!" Viktor screamed, trying to regain control of the artifact. But it was too late. The Heart of Darkness shattered, releasing a massive burst of dark energy that engulfed Viktor. Marinetta and Harley shielded their eyes from the blinding light. When it faded, Viktor was gone, consumed by the very power he sought to control. --- With Viktor defeated and the Heart of Darkness destroyed, the remaining vampires fled, their morale shattered. The werewolves emerged victorious, though battered and exhausted.
