Mrs. Flynn gave us time to work on our drawing again, which I appreciated because mine was still looking just a little bit better than a kindergarten student could do, and I was hoping Melanie or Tony would be able to help me. I didn’t quite understand the skill of shading, but if one of them could give me some pointers, I thought I might at least be able to make my drawing recognizable.
“Basically, any place where there might be a shadow, you need some shading,” Melanie explained to me. “Like, where your hair lays on your forehead, or where your cloak meets your arms. That sort of thing.”
