I moved again, slower this time, my gaze tracking the edges of the corridor, and for a split second, It doubled.
Two versions of the same space overlapping just slightly off, like one was trying to slide into the other but couldn’t quite lock in.
My chest tightened hard. “Shit.”
The air felt heavier, not suffocating yet but getting there.
I exhaled slowly, trying to steady myself. “Okay… think,” I muttered, my voice tighter now. “This isn’t random, this has to mean something.”
Another flicker came, stronger this time.
The wall to my right shifted out of place, overlapping with another version of itself that didn’t line up, like two realities were fighting for the same spot.
