So, Seph found out that the world did not freeze. Just that, it slowed down.

"It was hard in the beginning. Some days I desperately wanted to grab that phone and beg him to come back. Thank God I never did. I know a lot of people say this but it all gets better with time. You stop missing them. You stop thinking about them. You stop wanting to call them. They just become a stranger that you used to know." "How do you get to that point?" I ask desperately. "How do you stop missing them?" "That's a tough question to answer because people are different." She says. "And different things work for different people. But I always give my patients two tools and it seems to work for a lot of them. One, use your mind to forget them. How? Train your mind to stop thinking about t

“How long?” “Until it fully activates?” “Yes.” Her eyes flickered. “Minutes.” “How many?” “Possibly five.” “F*ck, Five?!” “Maybe less.” Panic hit hard. I couldn't breathe. Time to end this one way or another. ***

I threw myself at him, hugging him tight. "I'll repay you for this." I sincerely admitted. I pulled away and fiddled with the small clock in my hands, "how does this work?" "It's like any old clock. All you have got to do, is change the time to twelve." He explained. "What if I try a different time?" My curiosity got the best of me. "That doesn't work, it never works. I've tried it so many times." He shook his head. "Okay." I nodded. The time was set at the current time. I used the winding button and moved the hands backwards until all three pointers were directly on twelve.

Hazel, I replied, looking at Xander, “I can control time. I will stop the time and along with the time everyone will stop, we can escape, using this opportunity.” But Xander asked curiously, raising one of his eyebrows, “But will we not stop along with the others?” “No, those who will be in contact with me physically, will stay active like me. So all of you can use that opportunity for staying active, during the process, that’s it,” I explained to them clearly. “Alright, let’s do this, but I want to take Selene with us,” Damien replied. “Alright,” Xander replied. Then looking at me, he asked, “So how long can you stop the flow of time?” “I am too exhausted, I am afraid I cannot control it lo

"Time stopped. I stopped...time." All three of them stare at me, stunned into total silence. The air in the room tightens unbearably, pressing down on us all. “You what?” Zeke asks, his voice careful, slow, like he’s not entirely sure he heard the impossible claim right. “I stopped time,” I say, the confession sounding insane even to my own ears. “It wasn’t intentional, I swear. Everything and everyone just froze for maybe a minute or so.” Roman mutters a guttural curse under his breath, leaning back in disbelief. Kael just stares at me, his eyes wide, like he’s trying to see the incredible, impossible magic still clinging to my skin.

Once these doors closed, I knew I would never see them again. As anesthesia dulled my senses, the world around me faded away. My death was declared at precisely 10:00 pm, as indicated by the wall clock.

All I know, is that in the few moments we have been around each other, my fear as melted away. “I actually like the future you.
