I passed him the package. “No thank you, I have already eaten!.” He politely declined. I was slightly disappointed. I wanted us to share a meal together but I guess that will happen only in my wild imaginations. I kept forgetting that Xander is here and being nice to me probably because he pity me or something like that and not because he likes me. We both sat there in silence as I ate my food. It is one of the most awkward moments in my life. “Em.. so what is the book you are reading all about?”. Xander tries to make small talk with me as soon as I am done eating.

Xander My eyes moved from her buttocks to the back of her head with my jaw clenched tightly and she didn't seem to have realized what she had happened. She turned to look at me with her butt still touching my groin. I felt a nauseating disgust churn in my stomach as I glared at her through my narrowed eyes, giving her a piercing look. "Well?" She said, opening her hands in question while she anticipated what was never going to happen between us. First, she tried to seduce me and I suddenly realized that she was infact the one who tried to kill Bella. Not only that, she killed my baby!

After a pause, Xander replied nonchalantly, “Ok, we are coming.” Xander looked at me with a smirk, leaning his foreheads against mine and whispered, “We can continue after lunch. Ok love?” I giggled out and replied with a smile, “Ok, hubby.” Then we both headed outside. I found all were already in the corridor, waiting for us. Damien exclaimed, “Let’s go. I am really hungry.” But without moving, Xander and Damien looked at each other silently for a long time and their expressions were changing melodramatically, then after a long time, Damien yelled, “Let’s go.” I could easily guess that they were talking via mind-link and it was clear through Xander expression that he was not willing to lunc

I growled, crouching low, "I'll rip that book out of your hands and burn it with you." "You can't even touch me, Alpha." Xander opened the Ledger. The pages began to turn on their own, a blurred storm of parchment and ink, "You see, in the new history I’m writing, you never made it to this mill. You never even left the pack house. You never even fell in love with Darius.” He slammed the book shut. Suddenly, the world around me began to blur. The sound of the saws faded into a dull hum, and the honey-coloured wood of the mill started to grey and rot before my eyes. The heat vanished, replaced by a biting, supernatural cold.

After giving up on research, I had every intention of enjoying a romance novel in the library for the rest of the day, but when Xavier came in the library looking for me, I knew from the look on his face that he had other plans. He had reached out his hand requesting to read the page I was on. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that I was reading a particularly spicy scene. My flushed face gave everything away. Xavier’s nostrils flared as he finished reading the page I was on. In the book the main characters were fucking on the floor of the library when another male character joined them. The guy is like a war tank and is in love with erotic novels, flowers and chick flicks. He looks at me from up his glasses and he sinks the knife without pity.

I nodded to Xavier, he had every right to hate me, and if that made him feel better, then I would take it. I closed my eyes as he raised the knife and waited for him to plunge it deep into my chest. “Leave us.” She hesitated just a fraction. He didn’t look at her when he repeated it. “Now.” She bowed and exited swiftly. The door closed behind her with a final, echoing click. We were alone…again. His nose flared in alert, and his jaw clenched. His eyes flashed golden a few times as he walked towards me. I don’t need to tell him what was going on with me because from his eyes, I know he must be able to smell the heat and my arousal. A whimper escapes my lips when the heat increases. “Help me,” I say between sobs.

I have enough to deal with without adding impossible dream encounters. As I head downstairs, the scent of coffee and bacon wafts to greet me. My stomach growls, reminding me that I barely ate yesterday. But as I enter the kitchen, my appetite vanishes. Elara sits at the table, looking fresh and perfect as always. And beside her, his arm draped casually over her shoulders is Xander. They both look up as I enter. Elara's smile is saccharine-sweet, a stark contrast to the venom in her eyes. But it's Xander's gaze that captures me, intense and unreadable.
