Bria suggested, and I grinned slightly. As we pulled up to the front of the house, I spied a white and black speckled large owl perched on the roof looking down at us, then immediately got a chill. “Is that Aspen?” I questioned Bria and she hummed before saying possibly. Narrowing my eyes at the feathered creature, I watched it tilt its head, spread its wings, and fly off toward the forest. “Is he able to transform into anything?” “Yes, he has that gift from his ancestors,” Bria sighed and I huffed in amazement.

… Hugo I drove back to my place, the soft static on the radio and the gravel crunching beneath the tires as I pulled into the long driveway. The orange glow from the lampposts cast a warm light, causing a few of my guardsmen to nod in acknowledgment. My mansion stood at the heart of the grounds, surrounded by winding paths that connected to the ten-pack houses. The most powerful wolves resided in house number one, and the thick forest made it hard to spot the homes, which were strategically spread out.

Author's POV: A Dream(in the present tense) The night was black, the moon and stars blotted out by ominous swirling clouds gathering overhead. Threads of shiny black obsidian spun and whirled in a kind of fury, yet the wind was still. Small animals huddled in their dens, beneath rocks and fallen logs, scenting the mood of the land. Mists floated eerily out of the forest, clinging to the tree trunks so that they seemed to rise up out of the fog. Long, wide bands of shimmering white. Swirling prisms of glittering opaque colors. This sent a chill up the spine of the servant girl. Neither the dark glint skirting across the Queen's eyes nor the quivering - even as brief and momentary as it was - escaped from the wise and sharp eyesight of King Easton. The eyesight and accuracy of it... of a Eurasian Eagle-owl Harpy, was on par with that of a Raven or an Eagle. Without another word, Paris sped off toward Wainwright. Eljo satisfied, starts to walk back towards his house. He notices on every light pole what seems like a dreamcatcher. He inspects one and notices two Snow owl feathers on the dreamcatcher. He recognizes it as Snow owl feathers because last year he helped Ann with an assignment about Snow owls. Eljo brushes his fingers over one of the feathers.

The gold light dissipated. A disgruntled Hayden called out to the forest at large, "If you could make a portal from the tree all the way to this house, then why didn't you do that before? Why did we walk part of the way?" His yell was answered by a mischievous cackle from Dondus. Cory jumped, her eyes searching for the owl. She spotted him perched on the roof of Grandmother Alma's house. The front door of the house creaked open and out poked Alma.

I forced my thoughts to flow ahead, past the heavy steel doors and into the dark veins of the government building. In my mind, a vision flashed. I saw a narrow service ventilation shaft on the east side of the building, half-hidden behind a massive cooling unit. I saw two guards standing near it, but at exactly 6:15 AM, they would turn their backs for ten seconds to check a malfunctioning drone sensor. "The east maintenance vent," I opened my eyes and whispered, pointing toward a tall concrete structure tucked into the shadow of the Spire. "In thirty seconds, the guards on that side are going to be distracted. We have a ten-second window to slip past them."

I snapped my head at my window, there and then I saw a giant owl that was making heavy fluttering sounds from it's feathers. Yesterday evening, I had taken my binds off, while studying and had forgotten to put them back. This owl which was a big as my house, was whistling instead of hooting, something which was totally a different sound vocalization. It's eyes were growing bigger and bigger, as it continued whistling. And this started making me go deaf gradually, with my eyes creasing right into their sockets, spinning my world and making everything go blurry. I was suddenly rendered weak, and felt a huge itchy lump stuck in my throat.
