I saw his jaw move as he held himself back. “She is not part of this agreement,” he said firmly. The hunter looked pleased with the fear he had caused. “She is now,” he replied, his eyes moving between me and Jasper.

I dropped the hunter who was limp in my hands and darted over as quickly as I could. My hand reached the gun as I pushed it upward the moment he fired, sending the bullet into the sky above us. With it still in his grasp and mine, I smacked it against his face, knocking him to the ground as two of the hunters holding Kiko ran over to me. Their foolish error, it was only too easy for Kiko now, with only two hunters left holding her arms for her to fight them off. She grabbed their wrists and flung them in towards her, crashing the hunter’s bodies into one another as I slashed the other men across their chests.
