Could Hardin be more perfect? We ate quickly with me giving them the rundown and making plans of how we were going to catch Mr Graham in act. Soon, we were riding the elevator downstairs where we found the limo that brought to the apartment already waiting. The chauffer opened the door and ushered us in. It sounded hurried. "Did the boss say when—" The sentence stopped abruptly. Someone immediately interrupted him. "Don't say his name." The hallway fell silent. The heavy door slammed shut. I remained still. My heartbeat slowly quickened. They had almost said it. They had almost revealed the person behind everything. Whoever that boss was I was certain I had heard that voice before.

- Excuse me, does it hurt? They burst out laughing. - You will certainly feel pain here, but not less than where you are going; that’s what should worry you. Enough chatter, be quiet and let us work; time is running out. The big boss will arrive soon. Everything must be ready. I lie down and let her do her work, reminiscing about what led me here.

The man rubbed his fists, so much money, he couldn't earn that much even in eight lifetimes. "Boss, our slogan is only success is allowed, failure is not allowed." The boss: "..." It was all this fool's fault last time, he couldn't even trick a child. It was because he was unprepared that they were tricked by that brat. The four quickly got out of the car and followed Tod. Tod raised his phone, and saw four men chasing after him in the phone's reflection. He smiled mischievously, tsk, Terry was right, someone really was following them.

Nothing but the faint whir of the air-conditioning system and my breath catching in my throat. I crouched lower, as much as the gown allowed. My ears strained. Then—voices. Muffled. A pair of them. Male. Maybe three. I leaned closer to the glass partition. There was a small crack—just enough. “…the switch needs to happen in the next ten minutes,” one of them said. He sounded older, but with a sharpness in his tone that made him dangerous. “The boss said outskirts. If we don’t reach before sunset, it’ll ruin everything,” another replied, younger. Nervous.

“Where is she?” One of his gangsters rushed in, looking just as confused. “Boss, we checked the other rooms. There’s no one here.” Bjorn’s blood ran cold, his fists clenching as the realization hit him. It’s a trap. He whirled around, his eyes darting to the hallway, his instincts screaming. “Fall back!” he roared. “It’s a setup!”

He was definitely a goner. *TAK* *TAK* *TAK*……….. The silence was interrupted by the sound of fast disappearing footsteps. It was loud and sounded in quick successions. An obvious sign of someone running away. Big boss looked up and saw one of his lackeys at the far back making a hasty retreat. Big boss frowned and groaned and grunted and jumped right over all the other lackeys’ heads. With a burst of speed, the kind no one would ever expect from a man that huge, Big boss chased after his fast retreating lackey.

I hailed a taxi and when I finally got hold of one I was already thirty minutes late. As soon as the taxi dropped me in front of the building, I quickly hurried in. Everyone I came across seemed to be in a hurry too. Something told me that the new boss is going to be difficult. I entered the elevator which was crowded with employees frantically searching through files or making calls and arrangements. Today was surely going to be a busy one.

The manager asked: "Should I go count the number of people and report it to them?" The boss stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window: "No rush. If you rush, you can't eat hot tofu. People aren't fools; the more urgent you are, the more cautious they'll become. So we need to wait a bit longer. When the time is right, they'll walk right into the trap." The manager flattered: "Boss, you're always so thoughtful. What should we do next?" The boss didn't turn around: "Just continue as usual. It shouldn't be more than a few days now. These little lambs will be ripe soon."

It didn't come as a surprise to her when her boss grabbed his sunglasses and matched out. It had never been his style to wait, and therefore she had learned to walk fast, in other to catch up with him, and she did just that immediately after telling jade's assistant they were going down already. She met her boss outside talking to another young man who also wore sunglasses, looking serious.
