MY EX, NOW MINE
The journalist stands up and cautiously approaches the door, her hand trembling as she reaches for the handle.
"Wait," Jace says, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Let me go with you."
The journalist nods, grateful for the support. They both stand on either side of the door, poised to run if they need to.
Jace takes a deep breath and opens the door. Standing on the other side is a tall man in a suit, his expression unreadable.
"Good afternoon," the man says, his voice calm and measured. "May I come in?"
The journalist hesitates, but Emiliana nods, feeling a sudden surge of bravery. "Sure," she says, standing up from the table. "Come on in."
