She looked at me worried and I laughed. "You know no one can see you here, but you can see everyone. And the glass holds, I'm always leaning against it while watching the bar," I explained. "But what if it breaks?" She seemed genuinely concerned. "Look, it's bulletproof, passed all safety tests, but if it breaks, my flower, I'll hold you. I'll always hold you and take care of you, you just need to let me." I was asking a lot of her, I knew, but I needed it too. "I promise it'll be good and you'll be safe. You'll always be safe in my arms."

Maggie rolled her eyes when she saw me approaching and took another drag from her cigarette. "What's the matter, Maggie?" I asked her, concerned. "You're the matter, Steve," she snapped, pointing at my chest, "I thought you got shot and I was freaked out." Matthew just stood there, silently watching us, and chuckled. "Wait, what? How did I not get shot?!" I exclaimed in confusion. "Relax, buddy. You were wearing a bulletproof vest. Remember when we got out of the jet? I gave it to you, but you were so mad that you didn't even listen to me. Luckily, the vest saved your life," Matthew explained calmly.

“Sooner or later, I’m going to come under fire and anyone standing next to me will be in the blast zone.” “Oh, little wolf,” I nuzzle our noses together and brush my lips over hers,” I think you’ll find I’m bulletproof.” Her answering smile is radiant and I decide there and then to make her smile that way everyday. No matter what it takes, I’ll find a way. Even if it costs me everything, and it just might.

It was entirely encased in steel plates with glass as thick as bricks. "Here's the… bulletproof vehicle you wanted," Gabriel said, his tone laced with a profound sense of exhaustion. "I have no idea who you're trying to defend against, but if you're going to play this game, you might as well go all out." I rushed forward and threw my arms around him, wiping my tears and nose right onto his bespoke suit. "Honey! You're the best! When the zombies get here, I've got your back. Anyone tries to bite you, I'll blow their brains out!"

He gave the execution signal to his men. BANG! The sound of a gunshot thundered through the room. I staggered back and bent over slightly, clutching my chest as the bullet struck right over my heart. However, a second later, I stood upright again and smirked at Lucas, whose eyes widened in shock. “Your bullets can’t even penetrate my jacket, Mr. Lucas,” I taunted, patting the spot where the bullet had hit. This bulletproof vest worked perfectly. Lucas’s jaw tightened. He ordered his men to swarm me. Some prepared to strike, while others aimed their weapons at me.

All I can hear is my own breathing and the sound of interrupted frequency on my ear piece. “Shoot it”, ten minutes had passed since I heard that command. “What the hell are you doing? Shoot…” Before he had finished his word I had planted that bullet straight to that man’s temple. And the entire policeman came to secure the place.

Spencer already pulls out a gun as he loads the gun. ” You’re sure about this?” Manny asks this time. I smile and nod.” I’m sure. Alexa is here and also you guys got my back.” Manny smiles at me. ” You might wanna use this.” Spencer says giving me a bulletproof vest. ” Is that necessary?” I ask and take it. “Yup, very necessary.” Alexa says and collects another one for herself. I remove my peacoat and put it on. ” Okay, I can’t breathe.” I say and take in deep breaths.

Then he groped his body, looking for the bullet. “W-wha…how?” asked a visibly bemused Zia. “Even with a bulletproof vest, it was still nerve-racking.” He breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank God he didn’t shoot my head. I didn’t wear any bulletproof suit for that. “Y-you---” she stuttered. “You idiot!” She could not help herself but to punch him relentlessly with her small fists. “I thought I actually lost you. How could you fool me like that?!”
