Maybe after another drink, I would. Lifting my glass to my lips, I watched the waving hands and desperate faces with interest. Sometimes I missed being that young. So naive to the world and less jaded. Being a young twenty-something thinking I knew everything and that I was invincible from such asinine things such as heartbreak. Foolish.

I told her. "Exactly, twenty one years ago, I turned into a vampire". She said, "What? Then technically you are forty two years old. Which means you are way older than me". I joked. "Yes, you should rethink your relationship with me. I am a forty two years old woman in the body of a twenty one years old girl". She said, "Relationship? Do we have a relationship?" I asked. "Then, what are we? If we don't have a relationship?" She asked.

"What? No way! I meant that you were cute, like a kawaii puppy or kitten or something. I'm appalled that you even thought I was hitting on you!" She frowned. "A kitten?" "Yeah. Besides, aren't you a minor? I am not trying to go to jail," I declared. "I am eighteen now, but that's beside the point," she said irritably. "That's still too young for me," I said dismissively. "Too young for you? How old are you anyway?" she asked. "I'm twenty-one," I replied. "Then how am I too young for you? I am only three years younger than you!" she exclaimed.

I drift back off into the sounds of sleep. end of flashback I’m 20 now. In my junior year. Trying to pursuit my dream. Combating my demons.

“MY NAME is Mario De Jesus Cruz. I’m 24 years old, and the sin I’ve committed is that I defied my mother’s desires and placed her on the verge of death when I informed her I’m in a relationship with a boy,” I stated emphatically, my gaze fixed on the camera with no emotional expression.

Ming Yue replied. "Sure Sir, no offence taken!" "I am twenty-one years of age". "Wow wow wow!!! You are just so young! Dat is great! Lee said and continued... "Well as for me, I am twenty-four years of age. And that's why my friends call me "THE YOUNG CEO". "Do not worry about my story yet, I sure will tell you. But let us hear yours first. So please, kindly continue with you". He concluded and asked, "So tell me, what is the reason behind you leaving your parents to stay with your aunt. And is she your maternal aunt, or your paternal aunt?"

"But people usually consider I'm weird, and it's rare for them to mean things as a compliment when they describe me. In the past, I wasn't that tough and didn't think being called Luna Lovegood was a good thing." William narrows his eyes. "You look like you're young, but you speak as if you might be older—may I know your age?" Smiling mysteriously, I shrug. "I guess I'm thirty or something? I don't keep count of the years anymore." There is a snort. "No way you're that old." I laugh. "Thirty isn't old, but you're right—I appear younger because I'm put under a curse. I won't age."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing while looking at his face. Seriously? He really thinks I'm still underage? I'm 5 '5 "tall and my body is in good shape. I'm pretty as well. I just turned eighteen 2 months ago but I didn't look like a child at all. One could mistake that I'm already 19 and above just by the shape of my body. Do I look like a child? I was so annoyed that I turned my back on him. I didn't answer him. It's up to him to overthink that. Come to think of it, can I even enter a club if I'm still a minor?

I feel like I'm a blank slate with nowhere to go. I look at my reflection in the lake. Yep, same dark brown hair and hazel eyes. But do I seem a bit... older than I should be? As I try to remember my age, nothing comes to me. Maybe I'm just a teenager and that's all I need to know. Everything is just making me so antsy and nervous.
