I never realized the man I had shared a bed with was this cunning and ruthless. Claudia poked at her plate, clearly displeased. "It had better be that way, or I might start thinking you actually have feelings for her. Don't you dare keep any secrets from me, got it?" Swallowing my bitterness, I purposely picked up the piece of meat and put it back onto James's plate. "Did you forget? I'm pregnant—I can't eat greasy food," I said calmly as I secretly took out my phone and started recording.

Chapter 31. BENZO. I felt my ears blurred as I blinked them open. From the heavy pounding of my head to the foul breath that left my nose immediately I opened my mouth, I knew I was drunk. “Can you hear me?” Her eyelids twitched, and for a moment, her fingers shifted slightly against the blanket. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to show me she heard me . “I need you to focus,” I whispered. “Just for a second.” Her eyes cracked opened again . Suddenly that I almost jumped on my feet.. the faintest sliver of green visible under her lashes. Her gaze was hazy, unfocused, but it landed on me and stayed there. That was all I needed.

The only I see is his silhouette breezing out of the room and his footsteps sounds like echoes in my ears. My eyes water. A painful lump forms in my throat and I try to swallow it to no avail. What the fuck did I get myself into?
