Feels Like Sand In My Eye When I Blink Novels & Stories

My throat felt like the Sahara Desert as I felt my toes twitch. The enhanced sound of a constant beeping was almost deafening to my ears, and my nose twitched under the strong smell of hand sanitiser and bleach. My eyes felt glued shut as I tried to open them, and I noticed it felt like days since I've used any of my senses.

It was something else. The sensation only seemed to happen within his eyes and it felt like his eyelids, eyeballs, and the tops of his cheeks were hardening up into a strange sort of stone, when he closed his eyes tight. The rock that made up the feeling was somehow simultaneously smooth and slightly graining, with tiny little, exactly straight with no zigzagging, lightning strikes of pain that appeared every now and then when the jagged edges made themselves clear. The jagged edges also became more and more pronounced whenever he tried to move his eyes up and down like this, as well as moving around his cheeks and forced the movements of his nose, and his eyebrows, as best he could.

I stood up, and went to my vanity, I grab a cotton and try to remove it, but it was no use, it was still there, intact, like a glue. I was still standing, thinking of what to do, but my view became blurry, and in just a moment, I feel a burning sensation on my both eyes. “Ahh!” my legs weakened, that I can’t feel it already, I heard a loud thud, and my body ache for a while, but the pain on my eyes takes over, “Fuck, fuck!” I can’t describe the pain, I wanted to pull off my eyeballs, and put it on a cold water. Ah! Fuck! Damn, it’s fucking painful!

I gasped out in shock as the sand turned to a powerful and repelling barrier around me. I coughed out loudly with my throat burning profusely with a lot of pain flowing through it. It's really painful. I tried to walk away from the barrier but I couldn't because the barrier pulled me back to my actual position whenever I took a step to walk away. What's wrong? I asked myself with a confused look on my face. My eyes arched in pain. I couldn't see clearly, slowly my vision became blurry. My heart ached in pain.

Yet, it was gradually bathed with some reflected sunlight that my eyes decided to forsake its impairing array. *achoo* I hurled a deep sneeze, causing my chest to twinge. My face and my entire body are burning up, and I could notice my eyes getting glassy. It is so unpleasant; how I am helpless when it comes to this, and how I am being cared for by some demons.

When my consciousness returned to me, the musty smell of the enclosed space where I was hit me like a punch to the gut. The air was dry and dusty, making my eyelids feel scratchy and my throat parched. I tried to open my eyes, but they felt heavy, as if weighed down by an invisible force. I blinked repeatedly, trying to clear the haze, but everything remained blurry.

“It hurts.” It doesn’t feel like it’s been an hour since I’ve been crying for no apparent reason. The fried rice in front of me is already full of tears. I feel exhausted after draining my tears. My breath is gasping, my throat feels dry, and I swelled my eyes. My vision became a little blurry because my eyes still pooled warm tears in my eyelids. It’s always the same as before; pain. My eyelids closed, and the last drops of my tears slid smoothly down my cheeks.

My eyes flutter open, through the hazy fog of a headache that’s awful, to the point I’m nauseous with it, and my body feels like it doesn’t belong to me. My fingers flinch of their own accord, and the sudden sensation of smooth yet also rough and damp textured balls pull my eyes to where I can feel it. Blinking, fluttering my lashes until my hand comes into focus, and I realize it’s laid on gravel and sand, mixed. Wet, shiny, tiny stones and pebbles smothered in grittiness. My fingertips are dirty as it sticks with clinginess to my wrinkled skin, clogged under my nails. I groan out loud and make to move my head.

The sand is everywhere. It engulfs me. Help me. I can't breathe. Mirage. The sand fills my eyes. My nose— my lips. It forces its way into every single crevice, leaving nowhere untouched. It claws its way into my throat, finding space even though I keep my mouth and eyes firmly closed. Mirage, help me. Help me, please. I can't breathe. I'm completely disoriented. But through my daze, I feel an arm wrap around me. There's a faint feeling of thick, silken cloth being thrown over my head.

Donald's POV My eyelids felt heavy, glued shut with something thick and sticky. A dull ache throbbed behind my eyes, and my mouth felt like sandpaper. When I finally forced my eyes open, a blinding white light assaulted them, making me wince and squeeze them shut again. The air smelled of antiseptic and something metallic, like old coins. This wasn't my room. Heck, this wasn't even my apartment.
