Her limp hands hung uselessly at her sides as tears slid down her face in silence. I heard the wheelchair wheels screeching. My hand paused midair over the pigeons. I turned and fixed my lifeless, ashen eyes in the direction of the sound for a few long seconds. Natalie tensed and gripped my hand, afraid I would be triggered. "Colin, what's wrong?" I shook my head and smiled at her, looking as pure as a five-year-old would. Then, I fumbled in my pocket for a moment, pulling out a coin that glittered in the sunlight.

Third person POV Isabella slammed the door behind her, her legs trembling from the run it took to get her here. Stumbling towards the sink, she gripped the cool porcelain edge, her knuckles white against the sickly-sweet pink of the countertop. A wave of bile surged up her throat, burning like acid. She leaned over the basin, gagging, her stomach clenching in violent spasms. The contents of the drink – the rich, almost smokey taste of the drugged wine – now erupted in a torrent of half-digested food and bitter fluids.

But after my death, she was still twisting the truth to her advantage. I hated her. I hated that I died too soon. I hated that I never saw through her facade while I was alive. I had given her the chance to hurt me and to hurt my mother. I shouted with all my strength from the sidelines, begging Allen not to be fooled by her innocent face. But he couldn't hear me, and he couldn't see the fury churning in my eyes. Fortunately, his mind was too preoccupied with my condition to pay her any attention.
