I closed my eyes transported back into the present and breathed in. Life was just like that silly game of chess. I couldn't win this one but that didn't mean I had to lose. There was something called a stake mate and I was going to beat this battle into it. Then I was going to wait patiently till this mother fucker made a wrong move. I opened my eyes and met the guy in front of me eyeball to eyeball. “Okay,” His grin widened sensing a different fire in my eyes. “You interest me Ethan. I wish we had more time together, we would have been such good friends.”

“I thought you were going to be different from your father but in the end, that bastard has his blood running thick in you. I should have killed you just like I did to him and his mate!” My palms curled as anger began to scorch my insides like wildfire. “But at least you were useful, because of you we are now the new rulers of this world.” He grinned and I ran my hands through my hair. “There’s one lesson you taught me, Old man,” I said as I reached for my drenched pocket. “Sometimes, the most powerful battles are not won by numbers but by grits.” I pulled out the stake and his eyes twitched for a split second. “You asked me what my ace move was?”
