The board was in play. A silent game of wits was about to begin.

"But why? Why is he so eager to rule? I thought this fight wasn’t even going to be fatal. What I expected was for him to give up the throne without a fight.. But.. No!!! he isnt. Why?"

I closed my eyes transported back into the present and breathed in. Life was just like that silly game of chess. I couldn't win this one but that didn't mean I had to lose. There was something called a stake mate and I was going to beat this battle into it. Then I was going to wait patiently till this mother fucker made a wrong move. I opened my eyes and met the guy in front of me eyeball to eyeball. “Okay,” His grin widened sensing a different fire in my eyes. “You interest me Ethan. I wish we had more time together, we would have been such good friends.”

“What did we say seconds ago?” He asked. God, if he could give me just enough space to breathe maybe I could garner enough courage to think of an attack. I could fling the leg he was holding and push him off of me but no, his grip was firm. So, firm I could feel his fingers dig into me past the jeans I was wearing down to my skin, down till he could feel the hardness of my bone. “Expect the unexpected?” “Your move, is it expected or unexpected?” “Expected”, I sighed,” but it always works in movies. Like it’s a move guys don’t see coming”

It resulted in Wilbur entering the fourth match after battling once. Wilbur took a deep breath. He expected that he would be facing a Junior Guard with good combat skills. However, the Junior Guard had been observing Wilbur's previous matches from the sidelines. He dared to step onto the arena to battle Wilbur, but he repeatedly bowed out of respect and also signaled with his eyes before the battle began. Wilbur noticed it and felt helpless, but he decided to play along. Wilbur delivered a powerful strike to the Junior Guard's chest after exchanging a series of attacks. The Junior Guard staggered backward and fell off the arena.

The scar on my face was a reminder of the battles I had faced, but it was also a reminder that there were battles waged beneath the surface, battles that were hidden from the world. The tension between us crackled in the air, a palpable energy that could only be quenched by the forthcoming clash. He was going to win. The war council, which had really been a battle council, had been fairly straightforward. Alpha Idiot had been acting all shifty, barely revealing anything about what he planned to do, even though he obviously hadn’t come all this way without any idea of how to get Lily back.
