The Hollow Crown warrior tilted his head. “You still believe she belongs to you?” The words struck harder than a weapon. Elara stepped forward. “I belong to no one.” The masked warrior looked at her. For the first time, something like surprise appeared. “Your mother said the same thing.” Elara froze. “You knew my mother?” The warrior didn’t answer. Instead, he raised his hand. The forest exploded into movement. The battle began. Ashen warriors attacked from the left. Crimson fighters emerged from the trees on the right.

Jacob was standing behind my mother, and he nodded his head in response—he wants me to fight as a warrior like my father. "Mom, after learning everything, I don’t want to run away from my fate and my duty— I want to be a warrior like my father!" My body started burning in heat as I remembered the Lord of Hell, the evil monster. "My friends are with me all the time, mom, who always risk their lives for me— they always fight for me." I looked at my friends one after another. "But I can't win this battle without your support; you are my courage, and I want you to support me." I said everything while grabbing both hands.

mom said, throwing a look at my mate. “Yes she is. But she is still a warrior as per the oath and…she will continue to be regardless of her position,” “Are you out of your mind?” my father thundered. “The Luna of GrayCrest will be a warrior, training with those men out there? Do you hear yourself?” “I have given it a lot of thought before coming to this decision,” I said, trying to stay calm. “Have you?” Dad sneered. “No, this is out of the question. I can’t allow this.”

We are assigned duties for the pack. My mom Martha Davis is an assistant to former Luna Angela and my dad, Joseph Davis, works in one of the Alpha Jason's company. I, too, will be assigned some duty from tomorrow. But that's ok. Well, truly speaking I want to be a Warrior of our pack. Tough, and strong, just like our head Warrior, Viktor Kent. Ahh! He is soo amazing. I have been crushing on him for two years now, when I first saw him at pack house. I will be starting my training in two days and I will meet him again. Awwwww! I am so exuberant. I know the infatuation will be gone in the second I meet my Mate. The mate bond does that to you.

My mother brushed me off without so much as a glance in my direction. Unable to contain myself, I marched myself to stand between my mother and the Alpha King. “No. Now is the perfect time. I am not a child anymore. Just because I am pregnant doesn’t mean I can’t still be a warrior. I have known many women that were pregnant but still the best warriors in their pack.”

I am livid. How dare he try to command me. I am his mate, not his toy. He will realize you don’t play around with me and leave unscathed. He may be an Alpha, but I am a purebred warrior, and he will learn, or he will learn not to cross me ever again. Ryker’s aura is oppressing everyone. I can feel my mom’s wolf, Sylvia whimpering, my mom trying to diffuse the situation. She knows what will happen if I submit to my rage.

I smile at her. “We need to assemble the warriors, I will be going in wolf, I will meet up with my mother and the rest of the wolves on the ground” I say, Bjorn shakes his head and steps forward. “I am sorry, my Queen but Vulcan will have my head if I allow you to go into danger” I lift my hand to stop him. “I am afraid it is not your call, I am a born warrior and Queen and I will be going for my mate. I may be a female but I am not weak” The door flies open, to reveal my mother standing in an oversized t-shirt.

“I want to stay here, with you.” She smiled; it was bittersweet. “You are as precious as the day I left you,” she whispered. “I want you to be with me, dear, in paradise, but alas, your battles are not fully won. You have yet to bring those who have wronged you to justice.” Her voice hardened. “You have yet to make them bleed and beg beneath your feet as you deliver to them the fate that they deserve.” Suddenly, it was not my mother speaking but the warrior that she once had been. “It is on your shoulders to make them pay for every slight, for every injury, and for every life that they have ripped away. It is your destiny.”
