He wasn't dead! My baby is alive!

He was alive. And he was calling me.

Not the same person I was before, but someone new who'd survived something and come out the other side. I could live with that.

Please. Just stay alive.

My eyes widened as I patted my own face and the rest of my body. I'm still alive, aren't I? I can't die yet. thoughts in my mind. My tears started to flow, "I'm still alive, aren't I? You can still hear me and see me, right?" I asked him. "No, you're not alive Lee." "No, you're not alive Lee." I heard him answer so I cried even more. "What!? It's not possible! I can't die yet! What the hell are you talking about?! Take back what you said! If I'm dead, then why are you still seeing me?!" I moaned while crying.

I question myself, as if there might be a mystical response floating in the air, "Am I still alive?" The silence that greets my question is deafening, mocking. I strain my ears, desperate for any sign of life, but all I hear is the ragged sound of my own breathing. My heart pounds in my chest, each beat a painful reminder that I am, indeed, still alive. But at what cost?

Fragile. Barely alive. But still there. And for now, that was enough to keep moving forward.

As long as I am alive, I have a chance. I will survive this. And I will have my revenge.
