Zion really wasn't himself trust me,” Bruno answered. "Did he pay you to do this?" I asked Bruno who shook his head. “No. I was charmed by Shakira, that's why I didn't make it home the other day," Bruno said before explaining, but that sounded like some joke where would someone like Shakira find charm.

Three men stood around him like they were waiting for permission to hurt him. His lip trembled. His gaze darted between me and the men beside him. And for once… he didn’t have anything clever to say. Just fear. Raw, trembling fear. Something inside me snapped. Bruno squatted down, looking smug. “You left your army at home, Nico. You got cocky. And now? You’re alone.” “I’m never alone,” I said quietly. He laughed again. “You got balls, I’ll give you that. But this is the end of the line.”

His laughter were already hitting on my shimmering anger, I couldn't stand him anymore. As I prepared to leave, his words halted my process, "where's Bruno?" He asked, a slight frown etched on his face, as he raised his head in search of him. "Bruno was shot." I replied Immediately, my breath getting heavy. His lips hung heavy upon hearing my words and his forehead crested.

While Jonathan, Gabriel, and Lucas conversed along the way about lost time and how everything could have been avoided, they turned the corner and came face-to-face with a familiar figure. Bruno stood in front of the store, arms crossed and a serious expression on his face. He watched them approaching, and the friends exchanged nervous glances among themselves. Bruno walked up to them, his gaze fixed on the three with an intensity that conveyed seriousness. "Where were you guys yesterday?" he asked directly.

“We need to talk. Alone.” I clenched my jaw. Here we go again. The air outside was sharp and cold, biting against my skin as we stepped into the narrow alley behind the station. We couldn’t be seen… I was careful. Bruno leaned against the wall, lighting a cigarette with shaking hands. His face was pale, and beads of sweat clung to his forehead despite the chill. “I told you not to contact me again, Bruno,” I said through gritted teeth. He exhaled a shaky breath. “Yeah, well… plans change. What I’m going through isn’t something that’s exactly within my power.”

Suddenly, the beating stops, and they all gather in front of me, massaging their knuckles for the good work they have done. He crouch on one knee before me, his hand pressing my chin up so that our faces align. “Listen here, pretty boy. You have got,” he checks the watch, “about 20 hours to get the money. Don’t make us come back here because we won’t be this nice next time.” He finishes with another punch that lands perfectly on my broken lip, making me groan in pain and agony.

“I don’t care. The others couldn’t capture the true essence of El-Canino. I’ll meet the remaining two. Leave my brother to me.” She nodded. “Noted, sir.” Her phone chimed. My jaw tightened. “Didn’t I warn you to silence your devices?” She flinched, leaning forward so her cleavage spilled further out of her low-cut blouse. “You did, sir. I’m sorry.” Simpering females. I hated them. That was how they lured foolish men. My libido for her died instantly. I turned back to the skyline. “What does your phone say?” “We’ll no longer be holding the Verdad pitch here.
