“Did you already know?” I let out a short chuckle, shaking my head. “Of course, I knew.” I leaned forward, resting my hands on the table. “I just wanted to hear it from you.” Bruno exhaled loudly, rubbing his temples. “Since you’ve known it before now,” he said, observing me, “does that mean you’re going to kill me?” I stood up slowly, pushing my chair back with ease. Bruno stiffened slightly as I took a step toward him. His fingers twitched like he was preparing for the worst.

Enzo’s POV “What?” Enzo asked. Bruno removed his robe showing the pudge of his belly that sat over the rim of his bathing suit, his naked chest hairy with dark hair. He climbed into the hot tub and motioned for the maid to bring him his wine. Steam circled around him as he lounged back, his eyes closed. “There’s no point in waiting,” Bruno said, his face lifted up in the sky as he settled in. “We’re drawing up the contracts. You can sign them tomorrow.”

I gulped. "Well?.. it's rude not to reply." Iñari smirked. "Cara? Are you there?" Bruno shouted again from the distance. Why won't he just take the hint and turn around? "Ooh..looks like he brought company." Iñari smiled gleefully. "You keep my mate out of this." I threatened, making her smirk and raise her hands in mock surrender. "Car..oooh. what the hell is going on here?" Bruno shouted as he finally located us, completely taken aback by the scene before him.

Her gaze was fixated on nothing out the dirty window as she concentrated on breathing in and out. What is it that I'm supposed to be doing again? She asked herself as she stood at the cracked laminated counter. Oh, right, coffee. She looked back at him over her shoulder to see if he'd caught her little lapse. Big mistake! His muscles moved as he reached in and out of the bags, like some kind of well-orchestrated dance. And his ass did things to jeans that she was pretty sure were illegal in small towns like Silver Springs.

I leaned into his shoulder, listened to the steady thud of his heartbeat, and closed my eyes. In the dream I wasn't the girl killing herself in a basement studio anymore. I was dressed in silk, standing on the biggest stage in the world, applauded by everyone who mattered. And the man beside me, he wasn't going anywhere.

She eyed Mason with a disdainful look. Mason took a step forward, his fists clenching. “Taylor, I suggest you walk away. Now.” “Or what, Mason?” Taylor challenged, though a flicker of fear crossed her face. “Are you going to hit me? Just like you sneak around with your sister’s best friend?” “That’s enough!” Stephan’s voice boomed, cutting through the tense atmosphere. He pushed through the crowd, his face grim. He stood beside Mason, his presence a surprising show of support.

Freya’s Pov. "Bruno," I breathed, managing a small smile as my heart raced for entirely different reasons. If he had heard the conversation between my mother and me, we would be dead by morning. "What brings you here so late?" I fluttered my lashes in a disarming manner, but Bruno was already over it.

He said as he stood up and offered to shake my hand. "Mr Sanchez." I shook his hand. "Please call me Gustavo, just Gustavo." He said with a charming and satisfied smile. I replied by nodding my head in agreement. He finally let go of my hand and I bowed in respect before I made my exit. ​

Satisfied, I exited the container, stripping off the gear and tossing it aside. Bruno stood a few inches away. His short, stout frame seemed to expand, taking up more space than his actual size warranted. His broad shoulders and barrel chest strained against the seams of his tight-fitting shirt, giving him a faintly menacing appearance. His overbearing presence was suffocating. The faint scent of his overpowering cologne further amplifying his already overwhelming presence. His very proximity was almost unbearable. I hated it. “Everything’s in order,” I announced. Bruno clapped his hands together, grinning. “Glad to hear it! So, about my payment…”
