Enzo’s POV “What?” Enzo asked. Bruno removed his robe showing the pudge of his belly that sat over the rim of his bathing suit, his naked chest hairy with dark hair. He climbed into the hot tub and motioned for the maid to bring him his wine. Steam circled around him as he lounged back, his eyes closed. “There’s no point in waiting,” Bruno said, his face lifted up in the sky as he settled in. “We’re drawing up the contracts. You can sign them tomorrow.”

Her gaze was fixated on nothing out the dirty window as she concentrated on breathing in and out. What is it that I'm supposed to be doing again? She asked herself as she stood at the cracked laminated counter. Oh, right, coffee. She looked back at him over her shoulder to see if he'd caught her little lapse. Big mistake! His muscles moved as he reached in and out of the bags, like some kind of well-orchestrated dance. And his ass did things to jeans that she was pretty sure were illegal in small towns like Silver Springs.

Travis and I exchanged glances again. Just then, the room fell silent. Bruno stopped shaking, it seemed like the contents in the bottle were working at least. We stood some steps away, still staring at him. “Lord Lucian,” he called out. This time it was audible and calm. I walked closer to him and held him again. “Yes, I am here, I'm right here beside you,” I responded as I looked at his eyes. He turned his head slowly as he looked in my direction, though he was shaking just a bit, not like the other time.

“Can you shut your eyes for a few moments?” “Why?” she pouted and closed her eyes anyway. Just as she did, I returned my attention to the men surrounding us. “You're boxed in now, Draven,” Bruno sneered. “There's no way out for you, except death. So step aside from—” “OW! WHAT THE— ARRGH!” Bruno suddenly hollered like a child as he pointed his gun at his chest. He looked confused and shocked, utterly helpless, like he'd rather be anywhere but here at the moment. “What are you doing to me, you bastard?!” he cried.

We are going to Alessandro's club; he got into the driver's seat and began driving. He didn't speak to me the whole time while driving, which was annoying. We walked into his club and it was so beautiful and luxurious, there weren't many people there considered it was still daytime but from what I saw there were dancers on polls with their breasts out for everyone to see, men in chairs in front of them throwing out dollars and it was very dark so I had to hold Alessandro's arm for support. "I'll be back in a second, go entertain yourself or get a drink" Alessandro spoke in my ear then walked away with his bodyguards.

I leaned into his shoulder, listened to the steady thud of his heartbeat, and closed my eyes. In the dream I wasn't the girl killing herself in a basement studio anymore. I was dressed in silk, standing on the biggest stage in the world, applauded by everyone who mattered. And the man beside me, he wasn't going anywhere.

The party, once a vibrant tapestry, had unraveled into a tangled mess of whispers and stares. “Mason ” she breathed, her gaze fixed on him. His eyes, dark and intense, met hers. A flicker of raw fury, quickly masked, crossed his features. “We knew this was coming,” he murmured, his voice low, steady. A desperate attempt to anchor her in the swirling chaos. But the knowing didn’t lessen the blow. The humiliation, the betrayal, washed over her in a suffocating wave. “Everyone has it,” a voice cut through the silence. It was Stephan, his usual swagger replaced by a look of bewildered shock.

Freya’s Pov. "Bruno," I breathed, managing a small smile as my heart raced for entirely different reasons. If he had heard the conversation between my mother and me, we would be dead by morning. "What brings you here so late?" I fluttered my lashes in a disarming manner, but Bruno was already over it.

He said as he stood up and offered to shake my hand. "Mr Sanchez." I shook his hand. "Please call me Gustavo, just Gustavo." He said with a charming and satisfied smile. I replied by nodding my head in agreement. He finally let go of my hand and I bowed in respect before I made my exit. ​
