"Okay." We walked toward Lyra's space amid stares in the hall and stopped before her. "Mother," I called gingerly. Lyra's expression stiffened, but she quickly masked it with a smile and stood up. She laughed at the friends beside her. "That's Calista. My second daughter." She introduced herself, her tone laced with pride. I chuckled and agreed. "Yes, I'm her lastborn." Lyra's smile cracked again, but she remained composed. "I'm glad you're here." She said through an amiable smile.
