I uttered with a wide smile on my lips, sitting inside the rest house while looking at how Aunt Noora and Uncle John's shadow from the window fighting inside their room. *** Today is my birthday, I'm turning 19 and this is the biggest yet challenging days in my life. It gonna be today or never, but one thing for sure, I know that this is the resort I have had for the rest of my life. There's a very little possibility that I could go out from this hell and return to my family but that little possibility is already enough for me to hope for a better life.

“What about your daughter?” She looked at me. “It’s not like you were a child,” she argued and I froze. “You were nineteen.” I stared at her. “Nineteen.” She repeated it as though that number explained everything. “You were old enough.” Something inside me broke and I laughed through my tears. “Old enough?” I asked, wiping my face. “I was your daughter.” She said nothing. “I was just nineteen.” My voice rose. “And I needed my mother.”
