Screwing my expression to maintain a serious front, I tried to be serious but it failed when Ignacio's eyebrow twitched. Like a broken dam, tears spilt from their ducts in rivers while the laughter continues. The action of slamming the documents and walking out of the room only fueled it. However, it wasn't until I saw his exasperated eye roll that sealed the deal. Curling up on the ground in a drunken state of hilarity, I continued wallowing in the endless pit of insanity.

Carly's laughter was tinged with bitterness. "Pack, pack, pack... who cares? You're always talking about the pack, Gabe. What about me? Then I leave. Downstairs, I pull out chicken broth, rice, ginger, garlic, and green onions. Comfort food. Easy on a stomach that's probably knotted with stress and fever. I'm chopping carrots when the first sob tears out of me. I drop the knife slowly. Both hands fly to my mouth, trying to trap the sound, but it's too late. Tears roll down my cheeks as I tremble under the intensity of my own grief. I cry for the boy who was cut open and told it was art.

I mumbled, As I stood up, he kept crying but without making any other reaction. " What? " He asked me while wiping the tears away. " Why are you crying? " " I, don't, know. " He asked me wiping them again. " I must be broken. " He kept wiping them and laughing, I didn't understand but I felt deep pain watching him or Riley crying like that. I touched his eyes helping him to wipe his tears. " Tears are falling when someone is sad, are you sad? " I put my hands up his shoulders, his eyes teared up again but he couldn't talk.

Heartbroken, I left the bathroom and laid on the bed, still on my towel. I immediately took my cellphone from under my pillow and called Judy. The moment she picked up, I busted out crying. I can't tell why I did that, and I couldn't control the tears. "What is the matter, Carl?" She asked and with the way her voice sounded, I can tell she was afraid I had gotten into some kind of trouble. Hearing her ask that, I was unable to get myself to even say a word, I kept on crying with the phone on my ear.

My throat clenches and I just… stare. “Dumb fucking bastard,” I whisper, dragging a chair to the bedside and collapsing into it. I lean my elbows on my knees and bury my face in my hands. “Why the fuck would you drive like that, huh? Why would you just go back like that after everything? I didn’t even say shit worth ending your life over.” I wipe my face. Didn’t even realize I was crying. “God, Carlo… you fuck everything up. Always. And now you’re laying here like this. Like this is some kind of movie ending or something.”

Pain gently throbs my chest. My mind taken back. I shook my head. I can't accept his sympathy. I burst into tears and sobbed. I'm hurting Lucas. "I'm sorry! I was wrong! I didn't know I hurt you like that! I'm sorry Iris!" Lucas burst into tears. We both just cried in the middle of the heavy rain. I feel so cold on my skin. Lucas started crying and knelt down in front of me. He just cries. His shoulders slumped down.
