Zachariah says, striding over to us, hand in hand with his mate. "Indeed, but it can wait until everyone is rested. I, for one, need a shower and something to eat, I'm ravenous, not all of us got to sleep half the battle away." Calista adds, winking at Cain who snorts out a laugh. "Cal…" Zachariah gently chides and she steps closer to him, leaning her head against his arm but her amused smirk is still in place. Over her shoulder I see Gene and Samuel lifting Abaddon onto a stretcher and I know it's time to tell him.

Bailey replied, her voice soft. The doorbell rang. “Jace, please get the door!” Lyla shouted from the kitchen .“I’ve got potato on my hands!” Jace had just finished setting out the wine glasses when he opened the door. “Jonah?” He screamed, long time bro, he said as he shook his hands and hugged him afterwards. Jonah stood with a bottle of wine in one hand and the other scratching his new beard. “Heard you traded war rooms for wellness rooms.” “And you grew a beard.”

Aaron said in his most approachable and friendly tone. The dark-haired driver smiled at the “mover” and answered in an overly sweet voice, “I’m sorry, but I was a bit late picking up my kids. I’m Jonah Stafford by the way. Looks like they’ve already left to go to the new house. They are moving, right?”

"My mother tried to keep me away. She lied to me about you being dead and now that I found you, she was trying to leave. But I couldn't go without you," Jonah said soberly. He was wearing a backpack, a long-sleeved denim shirt over a white T-shirt, and khaki shorts, with sneakers on his feet. Trent just stared and couldn't believe his eyes. Then he hugged his son, his arms wrapping tightly around the boy. This time, he was slow to separate. Finally, he realized they were in public. He led Jonah to the waiting car, and Max closed the doors quickly, then climbed into the driver's seat.

“Let me go let them know you’re all right. I’ll send whoever is in charge directly here to you.” Jonah looked lost again as he stared at the smoke and embers, then shook it off and glared at Calder. “I’ll thank you to get off my property,” he said shortly, and so coldly, Calder felt his hackles rise. Jonah might have just suffered a shock and what appeared to be no small setback to his business, but he seemed well in command of his thoughts now. “Do we really need to—”

She didn’t seem to be frightened by the thunderous laughter in the room. “Hey…..hey….. little shortie, do you think it’s easy to take the Burke princess home?” Addison was first to jump up and down. “Yeah, there’s a few hundred hoops to jump through to take a Walter princess home.” Eric too joined in the fun. “That’s okay.” Jonah had a very calm solemn expression for a three year, but his next sentence almost choked all the adults “Let dad jump all the hoops and I will take the prize, my wife.” Jonah’s face beamed with a charming smile as he looked at Emma.

~Lianna Black~ Jonah was in the same state I found him in yesterday. An apron wrapped around his waist while he was wiping what seems to be sauce from his hands with a white towel. His scarlet hair tied in a low bun, his arms wide open for me, which I gladly came home to. “Did Alexa hire you to be our new cook?” I mumbled, pulling away from Jonah’s embrace. Shrugging his shoulder, Jonah’s muscle-flexing under his black V-neck tee. “I wouldn’t mind living with two gorgeous girls.” He reached for my forehead as if to remove the frown I have on all day.

I wasn’t too panicked to miss the way Jonah’s cheeks flushed at his little misstep. “You’re the best,” she said sweetly. She turned to me with a smile. “You haven’t officially met. This is our Luna, Penelope. Luna, this is our dedicated pack doctor and all-round wizard, Jonah.” Jonah looked at me, wide, innocent eyes somehow filled with knowledge and wisdom beyond his years. He smiled and dipped his chin. “It’s an honor to meet you, Luna,” he said. “You’ve already met my brother; I’m Jared’s little brother.”

“And he brought backup.” I closed my eyes. “Which one?” “Jonah. The middle one. Looks like a suit and tie gang.” I sighed. “Of course he did.” A hard knock followed. “Elara!” Jonah’s voice rang out. “We need to talk. Now.” I opened the door only halfway. “Hi. You’ve got three minutes.” He stared at me like I’d grown horns. “You’re joking, right? You disappear for months, show up living with him, and now you’re playing gatekeeper?”

Sat behind the wheel. The engine started first try. He rolled down the window. Reed was still in the doorframe, arms crossed again, Carl beside him now. “Black,” Jonah said. “No sugar.” Reed looked at him. “I know how you take your coffee,” Jonah said. “Just in case that’s useful information.” The corner of Reed’s mouth moved. The almost-smile, closer than it had ever been, right on the edge of becoming the real thing. “Drive careful,” Reed said.
