If He Had Been With Me Book Summary Novels & Stories

There was something in his tone that made my heart race. Not fear. Not uncertainty. But anticipation. The kind that settled deep in my chest and refused to leave. I hesitated for only a second before nodding. Because no matter how broken I felt moments ago… When I was with him… Everything else seemed to fade. And as he led me out of the room, his hand wrapped securely around mine, I realized something. Maybe I wasn’t as lost as I thought. Maybe… I was exactly where I was meant to be. And whatever came next… I would face it. With him.

Mercurial son of a bitch. I look back at my own book, but the words just blur together. Since the first time we met, he has varied from pissing me off to practically pissing on me with his macho male bullshit. Sure, our start was… bumpy, but I wasn’t going to let his lack of trust, or his distracting, hard, tan, and completely naked body distract me from getting my best friend out of that shithole. I got her out, saved our friendship with the truth, and now find myself facing off against the past I thought I left behind. Standing beside those my family considers enemies.

I say hoping he wasn’t too mad, but when he shakes his head with a smile that fear vanishes. “I can assure you, I had nothing to do with what those two monsters were planning. The reason I was always there first was because Hannah would mind-link me, she would tell how something awful had happened and I needed to get there right away.” He explains which was crazy but not surprising, Hannah had thought through this plan meticulously, she would have made sure Joey would get placed at the scene so I would start putting it all together. “And about the book, it’s kind of embarrassing but it wasn’t a book full of spells or information on groups of people! It was a parenting book.” He says which ma

I felt somehow knowing that he trusted me to keep the combination of his password amidst everything happening. As I memorized the combination, I couldn't help but think about how far we had come since our first meeting after he got into an accident. We had gone from being strangers to being partners in this dangerous game, and I didn't know if I was ready for what lay ahead. But I also knew that we couldn't give up now - not when our lives were on the line.

I couldn't argue against it, though—I was starting to miss him. The room became too big to fit me in. When I thought back to the things I had snapped out of his system, I longed to go back to reading the vengeance book at the library. I turned to look at the table. The system has vanished. It implied that he went home early and then departed once again. After getting into bed, I took out my phone and started reading the article. Though he belonged to the wildfire pack, I knew someone who could assist me with the translation.

During his time away, his focus and motivation shifted from getting me back to finding himself. Regardless of how much I'd wanted to reach the last page, I wasn't prepared for it when I got there. There were still details I didn't have about friends he'd made, his job at the bookstore, why he'd chosen this method of communication. This list went on and on. And I assumed there were some things I'd simply never know.

No matter how hard I searched, I couldn't find any part of the man I'd gotten to know within them. I shook my head, refusing to believe I'd been so duped. He was in there somewhere. He had to be. "You can't really mean to go through with this." My voice was little more than a whisper. "I told you what this was right from the beginning," he finally said. "Don't stand there and act like you didn't know this was coming, Veda. Nothing has changed." I took a step closer. The book I’d found was still in my hands. I wanted to knock him over the head with it. "How can you say that? Everything has changed."

I gritted. "I do. Because i always got men. On the inside, on the outside. With the fbi and everywhere" He said. "I got my eyes everywhere and before anything is done, i'll know" He boasted whilst i sighed. His ego was very much attractive to me. And his voice had me even questioning my sexuality, i really had no idea how much i was into drugdealers and mafias. I immediately thought of adding that to my book as i typed it in my phone. I was still writing that and it might have been slower than i thought. But afterall, i was just in chapter four. There was some silence between us before he broke it—

“But trust me, we’ll figure this out together. We will get to the root of this.” “Right now, I’m not so sure about that,” he shook his head and handed me the book. I took it and pulled the pages, going still. The pages were blank.

I had been working on my book, pouring my heart and soul into it, and I was eager to share it with him. "Hey," he said, smiling at me as he sat down beside me. "How's it going?" I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of trepidation. "I've been working on a book," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Derek's eyes lit up with interest. "A book?" he repeated. "That's amazing! What's it about?" I hesitated, feeling a sense of vulnerability. "It's about my journey," I said. "About my struggles with anxiety and depression, and how I've been working to heal and overcome them."
