He barked and Ian lowered his gaze. But barking and anger wouldn't get us out of this mess. I didn't want to meet him. I wasn't prepared to see the disappointment that might flash on his face when he sees that the wife he wanted dead was still alive and well. My hand trembled a bit. Think Isla, think. I paused. An idea. “ Let's leave through the main door” “ What?!” Ian screamed, his eyes wide with shock. Zayne didn't speak but his brows were raised.

Marcus says quietly and I clench my jaw. “This isn’t going anywhere.” I mutter. “No, it’s not, because you’re not thinking clearly.” He says and I narrow my eyes slightly at him. “And you are?” I ask with an arched brow and he nods his head. “Yes, which is why I am going to tell you this, even though you are not going to like it.” He says and I fold my arms in front of my chest. “Go ahead.” “Stay.” He says simply and I frown.

“Why would you stay with me?” I moved the last step between us, close enough to look up at him. “Because you see me,” I said. “You saw me on that stage when no one else did, you see me now. You know my tells, my nightmares, what I want even when I don’t admit it. No one has ever seen me like that.” “That is not a reason to stay,” he said, but his hands gripped my arms tightly, almost painfully. “It is my reason,” I said. “Because you stopped when I trembled, because you held me when I was scared, and because you are letting me go even though it kills you, that’s why I’m staying.”

Patricia was the last person to walk out of the room, so she shut the door behind her. "So Morris wife is late" Patricia said to herself after the minutes of silence and trying to register the whole situation in her head. It made her feel pity towards the boy and something in her was compelling her to give it her best in making sure he's back on track. Poor him, what would she have done without her own mother. She shaked off the feeling as a new one sweep over her. So that means Morris is currently single. " Gosh Patricia that's unprofessional besides it's none of your business" she reprimanded herself. What's up with the Morris guy anyway.

But just before he stepped out, he turned again. "You're really okay?" I parted my lips. Suddenly, a thin thread of hope rose inside me. "If I weren't okay… would you stay with me?" He paused—only for a heartbeat—then smiled. "Cammy, don't be ridiculous. Rita's still waiting for me at the hospital. Go to bed early. I'm leaving." The door closed. And I finally broke. I cried for choosing the wrong man. I cried for how foolish I was—still holding out hope for someone who had already shown me the ending.
