Who knew him well? Looking at her in defeat we had lost the only one, so far, who had known who the leader was. One who could have told us something that would have helped us know what we were up against. As I look at others, I hear Jack calling to me. I race over to him and Adam while the others follow.

When the mate bond finally severed, he would find out sooner or later. I suddenly found myself wondering: if he knew the truth, how would he react? Would he feel any regret?

I demanded. "I just realized I don't have it anymore. Freddy knows. He's the only one who knows the truth." "How does he know and not you?"

Adrian drawled. “How do you know him Daph?” Trent enquired. “Yeah, how do you know me Darling?” Adrian asked with an amused twinkle in his eyes. I gritted my teeth. “I don’t owe you any explanation Trent. And, How do I know him, what relationship I have with him is none of your business.” I narrowed my eyes at him, why was he here like he cared. He doesn’t. They never cared. Only a ruse, but I was smarter now, I no longer cared about them and their notion.

What if I needed to know everything to understand what I really was? But I had made a promise. And I was going to keep it. Even if it killed me not to know.

“How do you know…?” “A little bird told me, before anyone else. Not through gossip—Professor Smith told me. I know you, and knowing you… I knew you’d keep going even if everything fell apart.” She smiled sadly. So did he. Federico closed his eyes for a second. The memory came back on its own.

He looked like a broken shell of himself. He passed by me and then stopped, lingering by my side. "Miss, have we met before?" I looked at his tattered clothes and disheveled appearance, realizing he had gone mad. I shook my head coldly, as though I was addressing a stranger. "I don't know you." Lionel didn't say anything else. He walked on, muttering to himself, "Toto, Hope, I'm sorry… I'm sorry, I'm so sorry…" I paused, then walked into the cemetery without hesitation.

he mumbled, "you really didn't know?" "No, if I knew it I wouldn't have even gone through this," I yelled at him.

If I had to guess, he probably knew that I knew already. I wonder if he’s expecting to get a present from me? --To be continued…
