He thumbed through the first chapter as it told the story of the legend of the giants, and all about how the giants and forest people came together there hundreds of years before. He had already heard that story a thousand times, so he looked at some of the drawings and illustrations, and then he moved on, turning each page with reverence and care. He certainly did not want to damage the book or its pages in any kind of way. It was far too old and much too sacred to abuse it.

I sat next to him and saw the children sitting on the floor. I waved at them and smiled and they did the same. A few minutes later, they begged James to tell the story again.
