Ilyana timidly touched the brunette's palms, and he, deftly picking her up, led her along. Once outside, William stopped. Black wings opened with a quiet rustle. The young man threw back his head and spread his arms to the sides. He made a powerful flap of his wings. A gust of wind blew through Ilyana's hair and clothes. A jerk - and the young man easily took off from the ground, soaring into the dark sky strewn with stars. His wings shone, shimmering in all shades of blue and purple.

Lucien’s wings burst free from his back, dark, vast and powerful. They unfolded in one smooth motion, stretching wide behind him, catching the fading light of the evening sky.
