Abigail instinctively shifted, blocking Samuel with her arm. “Move along.”
The young man smirked. “You don’t get it. I work here. With Makan. Which means I know exactly who you’re here for.”
Abigail’s jaw tightened. “…And you are?”
“Eli,” he said easily. “Junior liaison for the Cultural Integration Program. Or, in your language, the guy who makes sure the Ruins stars don’t break when we polish them.”
