It Should Have Been Like This
The heat of him seeped through the fabric of his shirt, and I leaned in closer, letting my hair cascade over one shoulder as I locked eyes with him.
His hands hovered at my waist, hesitant but firm as though torn between holding me still and pulling me closer. The faint scent of his cologne—rich and complex, with layers of dark cherry, a whisper of black cardamom, and a grounding base of smoky oud—mingled with the cocktail in my hand, enveloping me in a warmth that was both mysterious and alluring. It brought me great joy to know that he's using the new cologne I made for him.
"You seem tense," I murmured, running a single finger tracing the edge of his shirt collar. "I wonder why."
