Tyler stepped forward. His hand gripped Darren’s head, forcing him still. “For your betrayal,” he said, voice sharp as steel, “you die.” Then, with one swift, brutal twist, there was a sickening crack. Darren’s body went limp, crumpling to the ground.
Silence hung over the courtyard for a heartbeat. Then the wolves bowed their heads in unison, acknowledging both the justice and the loss.
