Emily could only stare at Laura’s hand with a bit of excitement building through her chest. She would admit that the woman’s offer of “escape” had caught her attention. It was like an answered prayer for her as she’d been so stressed, trying to find a good way to escape the house a while ago.

“So what do you think? Are you going to trust me or not?”

She glanced up and saw the smirk on Laura’s lips; the way her amber eyes glowed in an evident mischief made Emily feel hesitant though. Her eyes, even though their color was completely different from her beastly brother, could not be trustworthy. Laura glanced at her the same way Lucian did when he first caught her; full of mischief and totally dangerous.

“What’s the catch?” Emily asked in her firm, doubtful voice.

“Lucian did not tell me you are into negotiations.”

“I’m trying to be cautious,” she said. “After all, I am here in the land that is full of primordial Lycans.”
