Goodbye, my mate

Goodbye, my mate

Dim light bled from a flickering bulb, spilling shadows that twisted the equipment into hulking, jagged shapes, like beasts crouched and waiting. At the far end, Leo hunched over his workbench, all sharp angles and focus, his hands moving precise and ruthless over whatever experiment he was tearing apart. Beside him, Gean's holographic projection shimmered, a ghost stitched from light and memory, his edges fraying in the gloom. My gut twisted seeing him - Leo's crutch, his echo of a brother we'd lost, flickering there like a wound he wouldn't let scab over.

The Queen's Heir

The Queen's Heir

Zeus's eyes followed the movements of Lysander's brush, captivated by the way his hands seemed to move independently of conscious thought, guided by some unseen force that flowed through him onto the canvas. The afternoon light shifted through the workshop windows, casting changing patterns across the wide floorboards and highlighting the worn textures of Lysander's worktable—scratched and stained from years of creative labor, each mark a testament to countless hours spent bringing beauty into the world.

letters that staved

letters that staved

Canvas 3: A broken brush taped to the frame with the note: “I didn’t mean to snap. But I did. And I won’t hide it.” The broken brush was a powerful metaphor for the fragility of the human spirit and the moments when it shatters under the weight of stress and pressure. It was a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay, that vulnerability is not a weakness but a strength. The note, raw and honest, was a call to embrace our imperfections and to let go of the need to constantly present a facade of strength and composure. Yam created a ritual: Every evening, the studio lights dimmed for 10 minutes.

MY BROTHER-IN-LAW IS OBSESSED WITH ME

MY BROTHER-IN-LAW IS OBSESSED WITH ME

“Actually good. When I was younger, it was the only thing that made me feel sane. Made me… quiet. But then everything else swallowed me up. The parties, the pills, the people.” I swallowed hard, feeling something heavy shift in my chest. “I don’t even remember the last time I held a brush.” Lucian leaned back in his chair, regarding me with that steady, unreadable gaze of his. And that’s when it hit me — like a flicker of light in the fog. Maybe that was the answer. Maybe painting could quiet me again. Maybe it could ease the restlessness that had been gnawing at me since I moved into this mansion. I stood abruptly, already feeling that strange kind of energy surging through me. “I’m going t

His Assassin's Love

His Assassin's Love

Her scent was one I wanted to get lost in forever. Wait, what? Why am I thinking like this? I need to get laid tonight. I’ll let Casey know I need one of his strippers once everyone is gone. I made my way to the living room to find Abel inspecting a painting Paula was so obsessed with. It was a painting of a woman crying; while one eye produced tears, the other produced blood. What I always found creepy about the piece of art was the fact that the woman was smiling, her eyes were distant, and she appeared mentally ill. I always thought whoever painted her was a lunatic.

Dream Mate

Dream Mate

Was it a bit overkill to attack and horribly murder three playing cards? FUCK NO! After what happened last time, I am taking no chances with cards ever again. If I had matches, I’d burn these fuckers instead of leaving their mangled corpses in the garden. I grabbed one of the paint cans and a brush. It might come in handy if I get lost. And if not, paint in the eyes can make a good distraction tactic. I hope it’s lead paint and highly toxic. Maybe I’ll use it on the Shit Witch.

All of this authors stories are honestly great, but the personality of Tiberius was truly so well written! Super funny, yet sexy, and also endearing etc. Extremely good job author - so excited for more! :)

This book is worth the read even though I found Tiberius to be annoyingly funny, I still enjoyed this book and the journey of him and Katrina coming together and succeeding in getting out. Every chapter Thales was in was so touching.

A Life Without Gratitude

A Life Without Gratitude

She pats my shoulder and moves on to check on Robert's canvas. I stare at my rigid, controlled painting and think: I'm destroying myself waiting. Waiting for Elena to explode. Waiting for the trap to spring. Waiting for the other shoe to drop. Living in fear of the silence breaking. I pick up the wider brush Maria gave me. Dip it in cadmium red. And without thinking, slash it across the careful, controlled painting. The red bleeds into the careful blues. Destroys the composition. Makes it chaotic. Makes it honest. I add more red. Then yellow. Then violent streaks of black.

My Possessive CEO (Can love conquer pain?)

My Possessive CEO (Can love conquer pain?)

A man rushes me from the side— I step in instead of back— disrupt his balance— slam him down— take his weapon— now I have options. Better. “Control slipping?” Adrian continues. Still talking. Still watching. Still expecting a reaction. I raise the gun. Not at him. At the lights. One shot. The bulb shatters. Darkness spreads across part of the room. Instantly. Men hesitate. Just for a second. That’s enough. Second shot. Another light goes out. The room fractures into shadow and glare.

The Billionaire’s Pawn

The Billionaire’s Pawn

she whispered, finally selecting a few colors. As I started painting, my mind wandered. My brush moved instinctively, creating bold, chaotic strokes of reds and blues. The colors blended into an abstract mess, mirroring the turmoil inside me. I glanced at Arabella. She had started painting too, her strokes gentle and precise. A delicate flower was forming on her canvas, each petal painted with care. She was completely absorbed, her brow furrowed in concentration. She's so focused, I thought, a small smile tugging at my lips. I reached over to grab a new brush, and in doing so, my elbow nudged her arm. Her brush slipped on my shirt, leaving a bright straight blue line on my shirt.

The Mate Agreement

The Mate Agreement

Evin adds, causing Bibah to chuckle. We knew that no amount of peer pressure and threats would get Evin to attend the mating ceremony so we didn’t even try. She sits next to her easel and blank canvas, hands already holding a palette and a paintbrush. Her jungle shorts and binded chest makes her look like a seven year old boy who loves going outdoors to catch and torture fat worms. Bibah lowers her phone, looking at me expectantly with one perfectly arched eyebrow. “So, want us to burn it all down? My answer to arson is always yes y’know.”
