DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

Here in the upstate sanctuary ink touched paper with a clear impact. Elena stood over the assembly table. She was checking the printed pages of a new book written by one of the collective's youngest members. The black ink looked good on the cream-colored paper. There were no hidden tracking devices in these pages. There were no data-mining cookies. It was a book built to last. Julian entered the print room. He carried a box of letters. He wore his work shirt with sleeves rolled up. His simple gold wedding band shone in the light. He put the box down. Looked over Elena's shoulder at the freshly printed page.

“do not read your own book—you might not like how it ends.” Glancing further up the case, the letter ‘G’ was carved in deeply. I scanned the books with my eyes and found myself reading the names that were painted on the spines of the books. Glenda Macon, Gregory Marsh, Gwyn Masters… Each book had a name embroidered on the spine. The books were all black, with names in a flat white. Very few books actually looked different from the others. The one named, Glenda Macon, had a rose with thorns dancing along the cover. I even noticed one that was a shade of slate grey.

Amy
Such a well written book and the story really drags you in, I’ve enjoyed reading this so much and hope a sequel comes out. I really feel this book should be printed, I’d read it over and over again. The book is long but it’s well worth it.

The author has a fantastic ability to keep me on the edge of my seat and a great ability to describe the scenery around the characters. I find the characters to be mostly well defined and consistent throughout the book. There are some typos and incorrect grammar, but not enough to disturb me complet

sign. To distract myself, I turn back to the shelves. The smell of old books was like a drug to me now. It is a mix of cedar, dried ink, and a hint of the outdoors that people brought in on their coats. Having the freedom to browse these stacks is a luxury I hadn't enjoyed since I was a child. I reach out, running my fingers over the spine of a contemporary romance by Alyssa Cole. I lingered on the texture of the dust jacket, lost in the cover art and the weight of the story inside.

Twin Alphas' abused mate

Twin Alphas' abused mate

yes, I talk to myself on occasion. I turn the book in hand to find a small metal spike lashed to the back cover with fraying laces of claret suede. It must be silver, that would explain the slight burning sensation fading from my finger tips. Dark lines in the tarnished metal, look like they could have been engraved words at some point in the past. ‘I wonder what delights the other two hold?’ Caleb muses sarcastically. I eye the two remaining books, one remarkably slender, the other easily twice the breadth of either of its predecessors.

I said as she gave me a look, then she nodded her head. “Okay boss, whatever you like. Fifteen minutes.” “Thank you.” I said as I closed the door. Lydia wasn't in my office anymore and I didn’t waste a second. I grabbed my phone. My fingers moved faster than my thoughts, I went straight to the reading app and I saw Inked Heart heart The book loaded instantly, like it had been waiting for me. “The One I Was Never Meant to Love.” My chest tightened again. “Why does that title sound worse today?” I muttered.

TANGLED IN THE PLAYBOY'S BED

TANGLED IN THE PLAYBOY'S BED

Those were good times. Pushing open the library door, I was enveloped by the familiar scents of paper and ink. The sleek, modern shelves, packed with books of every genre, rose majestically to the ceiling, creating a sea of literary treasures. Every book had been handpicked by me, each one a reflection of my eclectic tastes. I navigated the narrow aisles, my fingers trailing over the spines of the books until they paused in front of a shelf filled with classic novels. With a practiced motion, I pulled a row of books off a shelf, revealing a small, discreet panel. I pressed my thumb against the cool surface, and the panel slid open with a soft click releasing a whisper of secrets.

MIDNIGHT DESIRES: A Collection Of Hot Tales

MIDNIGHT DESIRES: A Collection Of Hot Tales

Kinks: Blackmail fantasy, public risk, oral worship, glasses kink. In the hushed, dimly lit expanse of the grand library, the scent of aged parchment and dusty tomes filled the air. The soft hum of the fluorescent lights overhead cast a cool glow on the polished wooden floors. Among the towering shelves, Laila, the librarian, was engrossed in a book, her eyes hidden behind her thick-rimmed glasses. Her fingers traced the pages, her cheeks flushed with a secret pleasure as she lost herself in the smutty tale.

The old handwriting continued across the page. Then I noticed the newer writing.Black ink.Sharper.Cleaner.Written between the original lines. My chest tightened. Those notes weren't ancient. They had been added much later."When were these written?""We don't know.""You said the ledger was ancient.""It is.""Then someone came back and wrote in it.""Exactly."I looked closer.

Gazing back towards the book, it felt as if something was pushing me towards it. I got up and walked towards the book. Placing it on my lap I noticed that the cover was filled with complicated detailing. The material felt rough, it felt old but well-taken care of. The colors were a mixture of ash grey, gold, and specks of white, the title was written in crimson red. Taking a bite from my food, I opened the first page of the book. ---------- [Chapter Quote: "Her soul belongs to words and books. Every time she reads, she is home ."]

Our Secret: My Dirty Tale

I frown, “It’s weird.” “He is a professional, Heaven.” She laughs like I’m being dramatic but seriously, Uncle Jax is even more strict than my stepdad is. His kids—my cousins live a very secretive and controlled life, thanks to the man she wants to ink me. “Jaxy has been inking people since before you were born and he is excellent at it, You’ve been talking about that little back tattoo for months so get it done, you’re practically in front of his shop.” She’s right, I will be in front of his shop. The tattoo parlour I was originally going to is across the street from his, they're professionals too, but like mom said, Inked by Jax is the best in the city.
