The first time I woke up at night and saw Jade like that, the first thing I did was check for a pulse. Jade scares me. "What?" She asks, eyes closed and not bothering to look in my direction. "Everyone in this academy seems to have a disorder; what's yours?"

No wonder those male doctors had been so eager! Though Jade wore the standard white lab coat and did nothing extraordinary to enhance her attire, she somehow transformed that ordinary uniform into something alluring. The modest coat couldn't disguise her curves, with only her calves visible beneath the hem. She was like a mystery draped in translucent fabric, revealing just enough to stir desire. I stood frozen, forgetting to speak. Jade's delicate features showed a touch of discomfort as she tried to maintain composure despite her flushed face while greeting me. "Dr. Shaw, I presume? Sorry about this—having to share an office with me temporarily."

Amalthea's POV "Come on, smack your lips together." Jade ordered after applying a soft nude gloss to my lips. "Can I look now?" I sighed as she inspected me. Without another word she turned my chair and I stared at my reflection. "Woah." I whispered as I could hardly recognize the woman who stared back at me. "Do you like it?" Jade asked nervously. "Jade, I love it." I breathed out. Jade let out a sigh of relief and in not time her shoulder hung high, feeling proud of herself.

She fiddled with her fingers, waiting for my response. “So within the space of three months, we have three job applications?” I asked, caressing my temples. “Yes ma'am. The first applicant is Mrs Smith from New Orleans. She has the passion for jewel making and she's made quite some amazing designs. I think she's interested in partnering with us.” Jade announced and I skimmed through her portfolio, taking note of her designs. I nodded impressively before keeping the papers aside. Placing my elbow on the table, I settled my chin on my clasped fingers with my eyes fixed on Jade.

Merry's expression remained unchanged; she kept looking at the entrance of the venue as if waiting for someone to arrive. At last, she saw the door slowly open as Jared and Janus walked in. The moment she saw Jared, her face glowed. She straightened her back reservedly, making her stand out from the crowd. But Jared did not even spare a glance at her but looked straight at Nicole with a smile. Janus was standing aside with tablets that had records of the data of the first and second generations of combat, ready to record all the data that would appear and surpass the combat data of the previous two generations.

“It will be your loss, not ours.” The room fell silent, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air. Jade stood, her confidence unwavering. “I may be new to this role, but I’m not new to the business. I graduated with honors from New Zealand, and I’ve been trained by the best. If anyone doubts my capabilities, you’re welcome to test me.
