Part of it was the constant threat of being spied on, but most of it was the annual bout of insomnia he always got around New Year’s. He had tried everything to fix it, but sleep was a rare guest, and a peaceful night was even rarer. For some reason, Mia enjoyed having small conversations with Tammie rather than attending to her customers. After attending to about fifty people today, she was quite stressed.
