Ruby threw a question when I poured another glass. "No. It's okay." Then I brought the glass with me, took a cookie, and walked in her direction. It was the empty seat next to her that I aimed for. "I should buy this. Your cookies are always delicious." I said after taking a bite of the cookies. It tasted similar to the one she sold in her store, but in an upgraded version. She put more chocolate chips and nuts. "You have to remember you're here not as a customer but as my friend. And these cookies are special only for friends. I don't sell them."

I scrunched my nose, pointing at Carl's plate. "That's because he saved us, Ang!" Carl was smirking when I looked at him. Then picking up a cookie, he shoved it in his mouth but not before passing me a wink. He was obviously enjoying it. Nutella cookies are my favourite and I need a total amount of 15-20 cookies to fill my stomach and what could these fine do? But at least I still get to eat them. I sulked as he continued to eat the cookies with the smirk still intact.

*Flashback* It was a beautiful evening when Xi Song & Xingyue were on their way back from the supermarket. "Okay, so the last one. Are cookies there?" He kept checking inside the bag when his feet stopped on their way. He narrowed his eyebrows, staring at her. "Cookies are missing." "How come? I remember I bought them." Just then, their gazes fell on a cute little puppy who seemed to sniff a tiny plastic box. "There are our cookies." She sat down, looking at that puppy, and showered him with love. She gently patted his head while he rolled down, making Xingyue giggled.

He tells her. She lets out a squeal and does a little dance in her seat. I call it her happy food dance. I look around, and everyone is smiling at her. There is a sealed dish on her tray with something in it. She squeals again when she opens it. There are four large cookies with some type of cream in the middle. Nate asks Ms Amy what they are. I know for a fact that Ms Amy has just made a new best friend. The cookies themselves are chocolate mocha with raspberry almond cream filling. She pops the top back on and starts eating. I hear a growl, and we look over. Tyler is trying to get himself a cookie.

He pressed a kiss to my shoulder, then my neck. "You think we could spend a little while in your bedroom?" "I thought you were hungry." "I am… but I'm not craving doughnuts anymore." I drew in a deep breath. "I don't know Jackson…" "We've already crossed the line, cupcake. We can't pretend that we haven't." "Didn't we agree that it couldn't happen again?" "As long as we keep it quiet, I don't see the problem with it." "The problem is that we're both seeing other people!"

I said looking her in the eye. “I’ll use them to decorate the cookies, they’re tasty and they make the cookies look a lot more presentable on the table” “Cookies?” I asked frowning in confusion, it being a term I never heard before. “Biscuits, but they’re stuffed with the cocoa, which is why I call them cookies” Kiara said smiling, giving me a piece of biscuit, which seemed to have small darker brown circles matching the color of the cocoa she made, I tried one and I closed my eyes letting the delight dance in my mouth.

I chuckled softly, almost to myself. Demetria’s eyes softened. “Guess I did something right then.” “More than right,” I murmured, taking a bite. The taste was perfect, crisp edges, soft center, just the right sweetness. I couldn’t stop the small hum that escaped my throat. “Damn, Wildfire. You’ve just ruined every other cookie for me.” She laughed. “It’s literally cinnamon and butter, Marion.” “Yeah,” I said, picking up another and breaking off a piece. “Heavenly cinnamon and butter.”

The question, so simple, so full of genuine care, opened something inside me. "Much better. Now it's just… strange cravings and a tiredness that comes out of nowhere." I took a bite of the cookie. It was perfect. Crisp on the outside, soft inside, with a deep flavor of honey and spices. I closed my eyes for a second in bliss. "Oh my god. This is heaven." When I opened them, he was watching me with an expression I'd never seen on him before. It was open. Unguarded. Fascinated.
