Scared that my darkness would try to take Chelsea as well. What was she even doing in my nightmare? The darkness inside me was getting out of control and I couldn't hold it back anymore. It was going to destroy anything in its path and I couldn't let that happen especially to the people close to me. My demons were seeking revenge and they wouldn't rest until they got what they wanted. This nightmare was definitely a warning that I should stay away from Chelsea. I could still picture her fear stricken face. She wanted to help me but I know that no one would ever get through to me the darkness was a part of me I just had to accept it's torture and suffering.

We bought seventy-two hours. Then she fell into darkness.

To never see Willow again? It sounds cliché, but it was my darkest hour. I felt myself on the brink of despair, a sinking ship in a vast sea of ominous, dark water. That is… Until a lighthouse appeared on my front step.

And as I surrender to the darkness, I can only pray that someday the dawn will come and bring an end to the endless night. Darkness.” He slips one hand under me, and my heart swells in my chest. “I believed I could never be anything but dark. I let it consume me, and I told myself that’s how things were meant to be. I had one hour to bring this to her or it would ne useless. And I would be damned if I let this process get ruined because of a singular, little but most important bit. I stalked forward, hurrying in my steps. The night was getting darker, proof that the morning was coming. It was still pretty interesting to me that the night was the darkest just before the light came. It was at this point of the night that the hunters gave up, this was the point where everyone was at their weakest and in their deepest sleep but this was also the shortest part of the night.

“We’ll know. But I don’t think it will wait for dawn.” They stand in silence as the last light dies, watching as the world below grows sharper, smaller, more dangerous in the blue hour. A cold wind slips through the stones as darkness deepens outside. In the hall, survivors huddle around the last of the fire’s glow, shadows long and faces lined with exhaustion and haunted hope.
