I looked up at her and whispered, "Eve, you’re alive. I’m so glad." She nodded, tears in her eyes, and tore off another piece of meat, pressing it to my lips. I clenched my mouth shut, shaking my head frantically. Eve’s gaze was firm. "Emma, you need to stay alive. There’s hope as long as you’re alive."

I say equally excitedly, and smile at my friend. “I can’t either. Maybe we’ll find some clues! We could be detectives, like in CSI, or maybe more like in that show I showed you, Limitless, since we’ve got our supernatural abilities, and Brian had NZT,” Alexander says, babbling on about a show we’ve been watching.
