I shook out the capsule and pressed it into Blue’s palm. “This is for your health,” I said, keeping my voice light, hoping she’d buy the lie. “You’ve been tired lately. This will help.” Blue stared at the capsule as if it were a tiny, poisonous insect. Her brows knitted together, her lips pursing in quiet resistance. She was getting older now, old enough to question things she didn’t understand.

She spotted the Blue Streak down on his knees, blood staining his blue super suit as a crowd hopelessly looked on. As Viper watched her father get put down by the Berserker lord, she almost felt the urge to just run in there and help her but Carter's warning to not mess with time had her grounded. There was more conversation between the Blue Streak and Lord Berserker that Viper could not quite catch until she saw the Berserker lord strike her dad across the face while he was still on the ground. So, Blue’s powers needed to be as positive as it could be, so that Blue’s powers would not only become stronger, but also purer, and become more healing. “Blue, come on… you can do this!” Reyan told Blue. “You won’t hurt Hail. Hail is your friend, right?” he asked and smiled as he knelt across Blue to face him and grabbed Blue’s shoulders. “Blue, you are Hail’s best friend. You will never hurt your friend, especially your best friend who is almost your brother, okay?” he said as he stared at Blue’s golden pupils.
