The only sounds were the horses moving across the dead road and the distant growls of Shadow beasts behind us. Then finally Ariana whispered softly, “What happens now?” Caldor answered before I could. “Now Blackridge becomes mine.” Rage flashed inside me instantly. As the ruling pack of an enormous territory, my family and its allies have had many enemies throughout our history, with the Sterlings of the Ironhowl pack being the most dangerous. Slavers. “They deal in leverage,” Orion says grimly. “And mates are the strongest leverage there is.” Tristan’s hand tightens around mine. “They won’t stop.”

Father stretch out his hand as to touch me but Orion growls and push himself between us. "She is mine" Orion growls at my father. "You will come with us. I scoffed, “sure… I’ll just take your word for it.” “Pinky promise,” he winked at me, “cross my heart and hope to die. We don’t want to start a war. We just need some leverage.” “Taking me won’t end well for you.” I replied, getting ready to shift. "My people will come for me." The man shrugged, “I’m just following orders, girly.” “I’m no girly either.” I growled. He chuckled, “fine, Marley Omari of the Iron River pack. Just follow us, and we promise to treat you as well as can be expected.” He checked out my body, from top to toe, lingering on my breasts and then on my core.

I couldn’t be the reason her second chance ended like this. “I’m afraid I can’t let her go, pup,” Ironfang said, his voice oddly quiet. “My orders were specific.” “You won’t touch her,” I spat, my voice weak but determined. "I won’t let you hurt her." "You’re determined," Ironfang said, his tone soft. "You always were so promising, Alexander. Always fighting back, believing you could escape your fate." He took a step back, his hand reaching for a second dagger at his side. "Your rebellion ends today. This is where your story ends."

Then as if having touched my cheek, he acted as if he was caressing my face. “I loved Dorothea. I helped her create her life as an orphan werewolf in Vamos, a pack led by lycans. I gave her everything! Taught her the things she knew. Only for her to choose that stupid farm boy who could give her nothing! I could have killed that man if Priam didn’t give them permission to go and live together in his pack! But well, I still got my revenge after years. I had one of my underlings kill that utterly weak and stupid father of yours that took away my Dorothy.”

Peace rose up slowly as her heart pound loudly. "Your kid is gonna be like my invention, you escaped been my Lycan but now you have a baby Lycan." Oscorb whispered as he staggered in front of her.
