The jade pendant around my neck pulsed with recognition. "A beast manual," I said. Aldric's head turned. His gold eyes fixed on the book. "What does it say?" I walked toward the pedestal. The frost in my core guided my steps, drawn to the manual as if it belonged to me. I reached out. "The beast is gone," I said. "But its legacy remains. This manual is probably for whoever claims its power." Aldric came to stand behind me. His massive form blocked the faint light from above, casting me in shadow. "And who claims it? You or me?"

I let my hand fall reluctantly, the ghost of her warmth lingering on my fingertips. "That same night. Said he could help me control it, that he'd been looking for me." A shudder runs through her. "His eyes... they weren't human. And when I pushed him away, when my light touched him, his skin burned. Not like Finch's—worse. Like acid eating through flesh." My dragon stirs with vicious satisfaction at the thought of Sorin in pain. Good. Let the shadow-fucker burn. "You've never encountered him before? No dreams, no strange encounters, no moments where you felt watched or followed?" Rain presses, leaning forward slightly.

The Gifted Hybrid. I was stunned at the title. It took my interest. I tried to flip the cover of the book but it won't open. I frowned when I saw something surround the book. Like there was a spell covering it. I put the book down on my bed when I saw something left inside the black box. There was a big gold anchor/ship wheel necklace that just fit my hands. It glowed when in contact with my hands. I feel like the necklace is mine because the scythe was also glowing. I took the scythe and looked as it shines so bright. I let out a gasp when the scythe transformed into a round object. Then I noticed the cover of the book, it has a hole round shape in it and an anchor then ship wheel in it.

In the early morning sun, Elaine could still see Andrew's grin as he left her in the shadows of the night. “You idiot,” The knight murmured, fingering the bright gold letters of the book, thinking she should have let him kiss her for what he’d done. Both so frustrating and yet the salvation of her people, “You wonderful idiot.” Elaine took a seat in the wooden chair, her hand opening the age-old book. Eyes scanned the countless names and gifts of fire, ice, and even wind. Some could speak into minds, and those who were so powerful they could bring down kingdoms or even end the 200’s year war.

Kiran inquired as he grabbed hold of Ironwood, the last one not yet sent flying. Ironwood, looking at his fist captured in Kiran's hand, felt like a child fighting an adult, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief. "How is this possible?" he thought. Ironwood’s punch was powerful enough to deform steel and yet, Kiran was unscathed. "Is this your idea of not showing mercy?" Kiran's words were followed by the sound of cracking bones from his palm. Ironwood screamed in agony as he watched his fist deform and blood seep through Kiran's fingers. His fist was crushed, and his right hand was rendered useless.

His eyes went across the room as he searched for a place to go through for the sole purpose of getting his hands on the book Calypso requested for. On finding no way in or even a possible way out, he closed his eyes tight, let go of all his fingers before folding them back once more. Just as all fingers were aligned he vanished. Pete was seen again, just beside all the materials that were up for bid. The hammer, Mjölnir, sparked thunder as it slowly levitated from the floor. With intense speed, it sparked flames upon all things that weren't on fire yet as it flew off the roof. Those that Eira had frozen, unfortunately, the remain of their body was liquefied.

As he delved into the book's pages, Danial was pleasantly surprised to find that the Iron Fists technique was not as obscure as he initially thought.
