Silent tears flowed out as I dipped lower in the mattress. My headache had finally resided by the time I woke up. The curtains were drawn on the window and it was already dark outside. I stared out at the moonless night beyond as my heard wrapped around the reality. Sighing inaudibly, I turned around and saw Adeline hunched over her study table, her nose poking into a book. She was really engrossed into whatever she was reading. Getting off the bed, I tiptoed toward her. As my shadow fell over her book, she turned around, "Oh, hi, you are finally up." Putting the bookmark inside the page, she continued, "How is your headache?"

but something was missing, where was Adeline? As I asked myself this question, the door squeaked open and Eva walked in, a bright smile on her face. "Oh Aiden!" She gushed, rushing to my side. "Finally, you're a perfect man! You look so cute again!" I frowned, pushing her away from me. "Where's Adeline? And how did you get here?" "She is with her lover, Aiden. She left." Her lover? Didn't she promise to stay until the surgery was over? I wanted her to be the first person I'd see this morning but unfortunately...she couldn't wait for me.

Helena stopped in front of my bed and I sat straighter on my bed and raised my eyebrows at her, indicating her to speak. “She is innocent.” That was the first thing that came out of her mouth and I could see, Adeline visibly relaxing by my peripheral view. She was standing near me and looking at our intruders. She didn’t utter a single word. She looked confused by the entire events that took place this night. Helena looked bothered; whatever she had read from my mail was definitely not good. She was the strongest among my grim reapers and she was smartest too. She was the only one who had the guts to call me by my name.
