I had finally gotten into my book after all and blanked them all out as I was pulled into a magical world of Vampires and Werewolves fighting over human girls. I look up nonplussed, catching Arrick glancing my way with that infuriating unreadable expression and yet a softness to his face that I haven’t seen in a long time. He almost looks a little bit happy and it just makes me feel shittier.

She put up her hands to his chest meaning to push him away but she ended pulling the lapels of his jacket closer. “Eliza.” Matan managed to detach his lips from hers but staring down at her upturned face, closed eyes and kiss-stung lips, he dove in again for more. Awareness sunk in Eliza’s consciousness but his kiss was something else and she didn’t want to let go. It opened a hunger in her she didn’t know she possessed. He tasted of mint and pure male hunger. When he sat down on the couch and pulled her on his lap, that’s when her self-preservation came in. Reluctantly she pushed him away and stood as far away as possible. “Meera might see us.” She said weakly.

It mirrored hers. The waitress returned with Leo’s refill, setting it down with a smile that lingered too long. Cass caught it, filed it away. Rose's POV After a long day of strenuous chores, I took a walk to blow off the steam of despair. Before my rank got revealed, I didn't have to do any chores, my mother would make sure I did nothing but look pretty all day. Then, I hung out with Sebastian a lot. The only emotion in his eyes when he stared at me used to be affection. It was funny how all of that warmth went icy in a jiffy. Now, Sebastian hates me, my mom only talks to me when she needs a chore done or someone to yell at to satisfy her hormones, and I am more or less a maid in a place where I used to be a princess treated with so much love.
