I looked at the diagram again, “a dragon.”
"Francesca said that dragons exist," he said, in a slightly defensive tone.
Francesca tried to stand up on her tiptoes. "They do! But they don't roar. They're really quiet."
Elaine groaned. "Terrific. Now he's doing destruction scenes from the Middle Ages."
I laughed, really this time. It was pleasant to make that sound after how stressful the past few weeks have been.
We sat, ate, and played board games. Elaine chastised me for eating too little and Matteo even let me assist him in coloring something. Francesca climbed all over me like a jungle gym.
