She lay there silently, her head resting on my shoulder, her body relaxing inch by inch into my warmth. My arm wrapped securely around her waist, pinning her to my side, while her slender hand rested against my ribs, right over my thumping heart. Within minutes, the exhaustion of three days of non-stop border skirmishes and council battles caught up to me. My eyes grew heavy, the scent of her wild-flower fur lulling my inner beast into a deep, peaceful quiet.

I started reading the book, and I wrapped myself in his jacket. After a couple of other hours passed, I felt sleepy. I got up from the chair and put the book where it belonged, got out of Aaron's office, went into mine, and locked the door. I check my phone, and there is still no sign of Aiden. I lay on the couch, and after I could hardly keep my eyes open, I let myself go into a light sleep.

I stayed up in my room reading the black book don gave to me some time last week but i realized it was the translated version of what Claudia told me about. For the hundredth time that day I glanced through the list of allies whose names were inscribed in the book and i was totally lost cause no name seemed familiar and i was frustrated cause I didn't know who I could trust. Fuck everything felt like a dead end. I cursed and raked my hands in my hair. I shut the book and groaned in frustration. I was disrupted by the soft knock of someone. Immediately I figured out it was Esmeralda I hurriedly cleared my bed from the files and other stuff that didn't need to be seen by her.

The final moment of the race was a contest between Lauren, Wanda, and another top rider. Lauren pushed herself to the front, her brows furrowed in fierce concentration. “She’s going to lose,” I whispered, smiling. Kendra looked puzzled. I knew every expression Lauren could make in every circumstance. She couldn’t hold on. No sooner had I spoken than Lauren faltered. Wanda crossed the line first, followed closely by the other rider. Lauren crashed heavily onto the ground, and the riders behind her surged forward, pushing her rank off the first page entirely.

I guess that true love stories never have endings after all. Dean took my hand in his and interlocked our fingers as the flight attendant announced that the plane was about to take off.
