After a few moments, Stefani looked up at Jacob and asked, “So, how was your day? Anything interesting happen at work?” Jacob hesitated for a second, his fork poised midway toward his mouth. He looked at Stefani, then laid his fork down. “It was busy,” he said slowly. “I had a lot of meetings today, some important decisions to make.”

Jacob declared, then he took his leave, not bothering to return to his office. Knowing that John was alone with Stephie didn't sit well with him. He had been waiting for an opportunity such as this, so he could see her again. And with Carter on his tail about being a better company, Jacob was ecstatic to prove to Stephie that her goodbye had truly been a fever dream. Heading straight to his car, Jacob decided to take the rest of the day off and handle the Stephie situation.
